The FN Model 1922 Pistol

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 15:30

The FN Model 1910 is famous for having plunged Europe into a World War after slaying Archduke Franz Ferdinand, but behind all the infamy is a very sound design. John Browning created the 1910 and it sold very well, and the 1922 is a version with a larger grip and barrel to make it more […]

RPM Precision Tavor Handguards

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 15:20

Canadian machine shop RPM Precision Tool has started producing limited numbers of their enhanced Tavor hand-guards. Done in both key-mod and M-LOK, these hand-guards are designed to add a little more rail space to the Tavor without sacrificing the original grip of the rifle. I’ve been using their production model on a SBR CTAR, and […]

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 09:09

There’s a new word out there.  I’m sure T-shirts, stickers and morale patches are being produced as you read this. The word is Hardcore Super Owner and apparently we – I am one(!) – are on the rise. To join the club, you have to own 17 or more guns.   The survey results from […]

BREAKING: Pecheneg PKP BULLPUP Machine Gun

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 07:05

The PETCHENEG (PKP) is 7.62x54mm general purpose machine gun (GPMG) that entered service in 2001. It is a favorite weapon of the Russian armed forces and the Russian Ministry of Interior. These users requested a more compact version for use in urban combat or when traveling in tight spaces (armored vehicles, helicopters, etc.). Russian weapon designers have come up with a solution to this problem by turning it into a bullpup. This configuration change has reduced the weapon length by 280mm (11").

The scientist-warriors at the Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey are working to bring the hand grenade into the 21st Century. With the flip of a “switch”, U.S. soldiers will be able to decide whether to use fragmentation or concussive forces – all from one grenade. Glocks As Percussion Instruments

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 05:00

Remember Vitaly Kryuchin? That amazing Russian IPSC shooter who dual wields Glocks? If not click here. Well Vitaly is at it again. This time performing music with his Glocks as musical instruments. This reminds me of those Musical Targets that Chris Cheng plays with but with a little more flair. For one, he is dual […]

The 10/22 That Would Make Bill Ruger’s Head Pop

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 04:00

Sometimes a brief mention of politics is necessary to offer a historical perspective on what makes a particular gun interesting. In this case, the gun in question is a new Takedown 10/22 being offered by Davidson’s. William “Bill” Ruger is possibly as famous for his alleged pro gun control stance as he is for making […]

Breaking: Ruger MARK IV Rimfire Pistol – The New Announced Product

Fri, 09/23/2016 - 03:19

The new, unannounced product officially came out from the shadows! The Ruger Mark IV is here! Ruger may have answered a lot of prayers with this model. My inclination of a handgun based on their sweepstakes requiring people to be 21 was about as close as I got to guessing this. The Ruger Mark III has […]

Calico Field Strip (100 Round 9mm Magazine!)

Thu, 09/22/2016 - 15:30

Ahhh the Calico. A relic of the 1980s that probably should have… died in the 80s. These strange roller delayed blowback 9mm carbines, pistols, and rifles make use of a very strange helical magazine that holds up to 100 rounds (or 50 if your a low capacity kind of guy) and are a bit notorious […]

A Bird In the Air Is Worth One In The Hand

At least according to this hunter in the Ukraine. He shoots a duck and he catches it without hardly moving. Pretty lucky shot.

Strike Industries Flat Wire Springs for Modern Sporting Rifles

Thu, 09/22/2016 - 15:05

Its truly hard to keep up with the pace by which Strike Industries has been putting out product. In fact, we have occasionally missed one, which has not been on purpose (which despite often being Made in Taiwan, tends to be some innovative stuff, like their new safety selector which has me as a believer). POTD: MP5 Hotness

This amazing photo was taken by Jeff W. of Parabellum Combat Systems. Parabellum Combat makes MP5s. Pretty good MP5s from what I hear. The photo above shows an MP5 with an SD handguard and Knights Armament suppressor.

1,000 rds A Day, For 5 Days, Every Week. Army Marksmanship Unit

Thu, 09/22/2016 - 13:00

At the 2016 FN 3Gun Championships, I heard someone mention that Daniel Horner shoots 1,000 rds a day. That number did not really seem like much to me at first.  When I shared this with my friend Adam of Aridus Industries, he put it into perspective. Think of your traditional training course. You usually shoot […]

.44 Mag Micro Explosion In Gel Block

Thu, 09/22/2016 - 06:08

I am not entirely sure what is happening with this gel block test. It is pretty standard stuff as the bullet penetrates and rips through the gel medium. You can see the temporary wound channel. However as the gel block contracts to its normal shape, there is a micro explosion inside the gel block. Which […]

Testing firing of the Russian 9-A1-4071K 30 mm cannon

Thu, 09/22/2016 - 05:15

There’s a new video showing tests of Russia’s new 30 mm cannon. We might not remember it by its real name, as it’s a bit awkward: “9-A1-4071K”.  I’m sure it will get some evil nick-name in the future, especially from those on the wrong side of the barrel. The 9-A1-4071K cannon is a redesign of […]
