The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today won a major federal court ruling in a case involving interstate handgun transfers in which the judge applied strict scrutiny to determine whether a ban on such transfers meets constitutional muster.

Constitutional Carry Bill Will Not Be Heard In Texas Senate Thanks To Open Carry Activists
A Texas Senate committee will hold the first public hearings on open carry and campus carry legislation on Thursday, but thanks to the antics of attention-starved Open Carry Tarrant County (OCTC) and their leader, cop-hating anarchist Kory Watkins, a bill arguing for constitutional carry—carrying openly or concealed without a permit—won’t even be heard.

On Sunday, MSNBC aired Melissa Harris-Perry’s interview of Attorney General Eric Holder and he said the “single failure” of his tenure as AG was the failure to secure gun control.
...Mommy Was A Revolver, Daddy Was A 1911
I don’t even have words for how to describe any need for this type of monstrosity. It seems that it would do neither a revolver nor a 1911 justice. One would be better off purchasing a pure revolver or 1911 pistol.

BREAKING: Federal Ban on Standard Capacity Magazines Introduced by Congressional Democrats
It looks like the anti-gun Democrats are back at it in Congress once again. This time they are looking to bring back the federal ban on magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds. Those of you who lived through the first federal “assault weapons ban” know how troublesome this legislation is.
...The Alternative In Lethal Force
The Alternative
Alternative Ballistics is marketing ‘The Alternative’ as a snap-on tool for police use to reduce fatalities. I say that there is already an alternative — it’s called a tazer. If an officer feels a threat warrants more response than a tazer, then the next step is to use a pistol. Not a crippled pistol such as this. This is just my personal opinion.

Proper Sight Alignment
Assuming your handgun is properly zeroed, sight alignment issues will show up quickly on target—as in these examples. At far left, proper sight alignment: Top of the front sight even with the top of the rear sight, front post centered in the rear notch.

FDIC Reverses Course on “Operation Choke Point”
In a major development concerning NSSF’s leadership to halt discrimination in the provision of financial services and products to firearms related businesses due to “Operation Choke Point”, the top officials of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on Wednesday admitted wrongdoing and said they would cease practices that had the effect of encouraging such disparate treatment.
...Self Defense in the Home
Brigid has some sound advice.
Look around you, if you come face to face with a criminal in your home and you don’t have a firearm within immediate reach, what would you use to defend yourself? (If you think electrical cord to choke your attacker, you have watched way too many movies with Matt Damon in them). Spontaneous attacks in your home could vary from open hand, firearms, impact or edged weapons. You’d better have the same things around you to fight back.
It is well worth your time to read the rest of the article.
