7 Ingenious Weapons From History That Should Never Have Worked
Human ingenuity has a way of triumphing over basic logic, and weapons design is one area where impractical ideas and designs have actually worked out.
A recent Quora thread posed the question of “what are some of the most ingenious weapons throughout history?” The answers span a wide spectrum of inventiveness, while providing insights into some of the truly remarkable — seemingly batty — ways humans have waged war.

Guide to Buying a Firearm Online
Depending on who you ask, buying a gun online is either a shady method used by criminals to obtain firearms illegally or next to impossible. The truth is that it’s neither. Using the Internet to buy a firearm is perfectly legal and, as with any ecommerce venture, requires some caution. Before making an online gun purchase, here are four steps to make the process easier.
...Report: US Weapons Now in Hands of ISIS
The Islamic State (ISIS) can count on one source of support for ready weapons in its brutal attempts to take over Iraq and Syria — the U.S. taxpayer.
A first-time field study report by an international weapons – track int think tank, Conflict Armament Research (CAR), has discovered six U.S.-made and U.S.-issued M16A4 assault rifles, each stamped, “Property of U.S. Govt.,” among weapons captured by Kurdish militia battling ISIS.
The report states, “Islamic State forces have captured significant quantities of U.S.-manufactured small arms and have employed them on the battlefield.”
The rifles likely were captured by ISIS from military stockpiles when they overran cities in Iraq and Syria. The weapons originally were provided to Iraq as “part of a multibillion-dollar U.S. program to arm and train the Iraqi military,” BuzzFeed reports.

Defending Our America: The Men Behind The Drugs
America consumes more drugs than any other nation, and they’re coming from beyond our borders. The bulk of the world’s heroin now originates in Afghanistan. That means American drug users are funding not only Mexican cartels, but also our enemies in the Middle East.

When Guns and Computers Collide
Military firearms are a simple extension of previous technology; first we threw rocks. Then we used slings to send them further. We developed bows and arrows to deliver more force. Then we harnessed fire to make the first guns. Technology is ushering in the next phase, and it’s fascinating.

The Other Side
Ever notice that you don’t see this type of vitriol from those on the side of the 2nd Amendment?

Sons Of Guns Cancelled
“Sons of Guns” star Will Hayden has been arrested again, this time for aggravated rape, according to documents sent to FOX411 by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
The allegations have prompted the cancellation of his Discovery Channel series.
“Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of ‘Sons of Guns’ and cancel the series,” the network said in a statement.
I used to watch this show years ago when it first came out. Since then, it has fallen prey to the trap of many of the reality-based shows, where the producers either focus on or inject drama that doesn’t exist. It got to a point that I quit watching the show.

Bouncing Bullets
Dustin has some fun out on the range.
After watching Instructor Zero’s Rebound Shooting video I had to go and try it myself because it looks just like a Top Shot challenge. So what I’m doing here is firing my pistol at a steel plate on the ground, the bullet is then rebounding/ricocheting into the targets. I first shoot down my plate rack and then bounce a few 230 grain Winchester “1911Win” hollow points into Clear Ballistics Gel to see what kind of ballistic performance one would get with this stunt. Pistol used was an FNX Tactical .45 ACP with Trijicon RMR, Silencer Co Osprey and Streamlight TLR-1, read more about this setup in the September 2014 edition of Texas Fish and Game Magazine.
Preach On, Andrew
Andrew hits the nail on the head for this one.
Yesterday, a “firearms instructor” here in Arizona was killed after a nine-year-old girl he was “instructing” in the use of an Uzi shot him in the head with said Uzi.
