So starting on or about January 13th I will be going on a short term hiatus. Everyone can clap and cheer since I will not be doing much in the way of posting. I am sure the people in the village of alphabet soup (aka D.C., FBI, CIA, NSA, ATF, PETA, PTA, UNCLE, etc.) will enjoy having one less person to worry about posting.
Sadly I will still be at home but there is no telling if I will be able or willing to use a mouse. On the 14th I will be having surgery on my right shoulder in the hopes that it will fix my problems. About 15 years ago I had an injury where I separated my shoulder (AC tear) and fractured my right clavicle. It has been a pain since day one and after finally skipping over a general practitioner and their minions and jumping to an orthopedic surgeon the truth came out that it never healed correctly and that was the reason for the pain.
It may be a simple surgery of just trimming some bone or may end up being a partial reconstruction. I will not know till I wake up honestly but have the feeling that it will be more than just a little trim.
Then there is the therapy, a trim of the bone is next day therapy for a few weeks (which I can’t afford so I am going to do what I can myself.) And reconstruction could end up with 4 to 6 weeks in a sling, another 4 weeks range of motion therapy (medical speak for pay us to make you move), and up to two months of physical therapy (a whole lot more money I won’t have).
So enjoy your reprieve from me I will have my wife post once or twice to let everyone know how things are going and how much of a pain I am. Been thinking about getting one of those air horns and a cow bell so I can keep her on her toes. You can give her your condolences if you like; I am guessing I won’t be much fun to be around for a while so everyone here is pretty lucky.
For anyone interested in dropping a few dollars so that I can actually afford some therapy and pain medication my wife setup a page where a donation can be made. https://www.gofundme.com/rke22jw
There are multiple different possible ways to make the repairs to the AC joint so any number of techniques can be done. The the Doctor plans to do everything arthoscopically to begin with he may try and make all the repairs in that way but could end up needing to go to an open surgery depending on the damage he encounters, simply google AC joint repair and you should be able to pull up a ton of video's on youtube.
Stay safe out there America. The crazies are always out on the prowl. And help keep an eye on me too, with a bum shoulder and pain meds I will reluctantly be disarmed.
