Mon, 06/02/2014 - 09:09

Sisk Guns of Dayton Texas has released their latest modular component in the STAR (Sisk Tactical Adaptive Rifle) Stock. I personally went hands-on at NRA 2014 and walked away impressed with the modularity and ease of manipulation. My personal kudos on the presser. I laughed out loud on the candor and snarkiness. (We read a […]

Ammo Prices: 05/30/2014

Fri, 05/30/2014 - 19:33

Week 10. My apologies for last week’s issue with the table headers. The problem is related to some annoyances with the content management software–basically it strips out some of the attributes I put in the headers for styling and analytics. If I don’t stand on one foot and hold my mouth just right when I […]

3HGR sling torture test

Fri, 05/30/2014 - 12:01

Last year we blogged about the Finnish 3HGR tree sling. Well, the guys in Finland sent us a video of their torture test. There were some concerns, from some of our readers, about the durability of the 3HGR since the attachment points were made of polymer. Check out their torture test and let it assuage […]

Some More Chinese Developments

Fri, 05/30/2014 - 06:08

There is now a Chinese-made rail system (which appears to be 1913 standard or similar) for the QBZ-95 rifle. It replaces the top handguard/carry handle. A logo is visible that reads “ACP” or “AGP”. More pictures at Sinodefenceforum. Also found was a glam shot of China’s entry into the OICW category, the Type 05 Strategic Rifle: […]

Thu, 05/29/2014 - 15:22

Earlier this year Jenni Edwards, a UK artist, emailed me asking if I could feature her art on TFB. She had discovered it has not possible to sell her creations in the United Kingdom due to laws prohibiting the sale of replica guns. The post I wrote was very popular and attracted 76 comments. Jenni just let me know that FN […]

Dirty dirty .22 suppressors

Thu, 05/29/2014 - 14:11

I know from experience that .22 suppressors accumulate a lot of dirt. Federalist shares the lessons he learnt about cleaning .22 suppressors … This is a big mistake for a .22LR suppressor, and here’s why: .22 rimfires are very dirty. Over time layers of condensed lead, hardened with powder byproducts and bullet lubricant, will accumulate […]

Paki Tape Available from Echo Nine Three

Thu, 05/29/2014 - 12:01

Having traveled to the far-east, India, and Mid-East often I run across all sorts of weaponry. Often overseas, I saw brightly-colored AK’s, INSAS’, and a few M-series weapons sprinkled in. Not knowing the local language or wanting to be detained for approaching a security guard awkwardly, I was left wondering the source of festive adornments. […]
