Oppose ATF’s 5.56 M855 Ball Ammunition Ban

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has announced it is seeking to ban commonplace 5.56 M855 ball ammunition  as “armor piercing ammunition.” If you have not already done so, all industry employees, target shooters and gun owners should contact your Member of Congress AND the ATF to oppose this unnecessary ban, which is truly a solution in search of a problem and that raises serious questions about executive agency attitude and overreach. Stopped cold on Capitol Hill, this action appears to be the Obama administration’s attempt to pursue gun control by other means.

If you’re looking for a way to introduce more women to the concept of shooting a firearm and carrying concealed, you might consider hosting a holster fashion show, which, as we found last weekend at the Firearm and Fashion Expo in Branson, Mo., appeared to be a great way to educate and entertain. The weekend’s events felt the brunt of yet another winter snow and ice storm that swiftly moved into the southwestern portion of the Ozarks on Friday afternoon and basically shut down travel.

The USA Shooting Shotgun Team wasted no time in picking right up where it left off in 2014. In Acapulco, Mexico for the start of the 2015 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup series, Corey Cogdell-Unrein and Kayle Browning supplied the opening-day highlights Monday with a gold medal, a fourth-place finish and the most important reward of all, an Olympic quota in Women’s Trap.  Brian Burrows came through Tuesday with a finals entry and an eventual sixth-place finish.

With her final time of 247.46 seconds, Rogers finished ninth Master in the Stock Service Pistol Division where she competed with a Smith & Wesson M&P Pro pistol.

Christine Clayton Wins 2015 Ohio Duck Stamp Art Competition

Christine Clayton is the winner of the 2015 Ohio Duck Stamp art competition that was held a few days ago. Her accomplishment is noteworthy because she is the first female winner Ohio has had since the program began in 1982. She is also the youngest artist (20) to win the Ohio stamp competition.

Christine is from Sidney, Ohio, and painted the wood ducks that will be featured on the Ohio stamp. The competition was open to artists from all over the country.

The Red Bull X-Alps is the world’s toughest adventure race. It’s a bold claim – but one it surely deserves. It’s difficult to think of another race that demands such a high level of fitness and technical skill – or lasts so long.
