Fri, 07/17/2015 - 15:54

"Getting a suppressor is like getting a tattoo. Once you have one, you gotta have more." So says Jep Robertson as he appears in a video promoting Silencerco's #FightTheNoise campaign. As it turns out, the Duck Dynasty star is quite the fan of suppressors and is more than happy to show off a part of his collection. Jep also gave his two cents on hunting with suppressors, which as a Louisiana resident he was now able to enjoy. "I was chatting with the governor and we were talking about hunting with suppressors. We were talking about how safe it it is for your hearing, you know,...

Fri, 07/17/2015 - 15:53

Steve Feltham, 52, is best known as one of the leading figures in the hunt for the Loch Ness Monster, commonly called "Nessie" after the lake in the Scottish Highlands. Almost 25 years ago, Feltham left his home, job, and girlfriend in southwest England to join the hunt for the legendary creature. Feltham has spent so much time searching for Nessie---nearly half his life---that the Guinness Book of World Records recognized him for the longest continuous hunt for the monster, but that hunt may soon be over. Feltham recently told ...

The BAREBOW! Chronicles: “What Do You Mean, ‘It Has Teats!’?”

Fri, 07/17/2015 - 14:22

Sometime in the early part of 2000, I asked Mark Buehrer of Bowhunting Safari Consultants to book me an August 2001 hunt up in Alaska for barren ground caribou. I had never so much as seen a single bull during my first try for the species in 1999, but Mark assured me he had personally hunted them with Bob Adam’s Guide Service out of Eagle River, Alaska, and that---if he booked a hunt for me there---I would have no shortage of animals to pursue in Adam’s outfitter area. As a way of expressing my gratitude to Gary Coleman, who had guided me to my Nevada desert bighorn in December of 1999,...

Video: Watch This Full-auto .45 ACP “FrankenUZI” in Action

Fri, 07/17/2015 - 09:53

Fully automatic .45 ACP Uzis aren't exactly rare, but we've never seen one with this kind of setup before. According to the person who uploaded the video below, the wooden foregrip and stock were custom-built by the owner of the firearm. This is probably because the traditional Uzi stock is rather painful to use. We're not sure what it does for the overall aesthetic, but the wooden parts seem a little too bulky to be comfortable. Judging by the way the shooter holds the foregrip, either he needs some bigger mitts or the grip needs another trip to the work table. What do you think? Is...

For the first time in nearly 40 years, Illinois hunters will be able to pursue bobcats again. On Tuesday, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner signed a bill that will open up a limited bobcat season in 2016---much to the disappointment of animal rights activists. In a press release, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) heavily criticized Rauner for signing the bill. "To get the bill passed through the legislature, lawmakers relied on absurd and outlandish exaggerations about bobcats---who are shy and elusive creatures that only weigh slightly more than an average house cat---and...

Moose are already more than happy enough to hog pools, but Samantha McGinnis told KREM 2 that this critter has been back three times and seems to be sticking around. While it's interesting to watch, moose can make for poor house guests and are often dangerous. Some experts recommend disassembling pools or...

This video is causing a stir in both the drone and firearms community. It appears to show a homemade quadcopter flying and firing a Kel-Tec PMR-30. It was always a struggle to get enough bait, and Cory seemed to be the guy who was able to get the most bait. The other hunters often used up what he brought.
