Sun, 01/18/2015 - 10:16

No More Shouldered SIG Braces

Sun, 01/18/2015 - 09:44

If you own a pistol with a SIG Brace, or the like, you need to read this. The BATFE has just issued an open letter to all of us that says we can no longer shoulder our arm-brace-equipped pistols unless we register them as short barreled rifles. This is the single biggest industry news of 2015, and is going to make a lot of folks really angry.

Cheap Guns – The Cobra CA380 Semi-Auto $199?

Thu, 01/15/2015 - 20:05

This is the start of a new series I have been thinking about called “Cheap Guns.” I don’t know if cheap is the right word, but it’s the word people use when they encounter a $200 firearm of just about any type. “That’s cheap!” But the next words are something like “I wonder if it is any good.” My goal is to go out and buy some of these guns, some of the more common ones, and go shoot them.

Recover that Beretta m9

Thu, 01/15/2015 - 08:58

For me, a pistol without a rail is more or less a novelty. I shoot them at the range, but leave it at that. I won’t carry a full-size pistol if I can’t attach some implement of illumination to its frame. I’m not knocking range guns or older designs for their defects, but I carry guns I can use in low light situations. That's where ReCover comes in.

Prepping 101: Perimeter Alarm Security – The Wireless Options

Wed, 01/14/2015 - 13:48

Our last visit to the topic of perimeter security took a look at a really nifty tripwire system I found on Ebay. It busts a .22 caliber nailgun blank, and you can hear it for miles on a quiet night in the country. It is extremely low-tech and electricity free, and it works. For this article I am following up with a couple of wireless options, one expensive and one pretty cheap, and both also work really well. Nobody wants to rely on batteries, but any tripwire system is going to have several basic drawbacks:

Do American Gun Laws Keep Terrorists in Check?

Tue, 01/13/2015 - 17:04

“I think, as far as French gun laws, it’s basically a gun-free zone,” Miller told Fox News host Anna Kooiman. “As we’ve seen in the United States, gun-free zones lure evil and crazy people like terrorists there because no one fights back.”
