With the passage of the new Firearm Concealed Carry Act, Illinois “Qualified Examiners”, physicians, clinical psychologists, school administrators and law enforcement official are required to report those who they believe pose a “clear and present danger” to themselves or others.

This does not have to involve firearms!

Under the FCCA, these mandated reporters are to report anyone within 24 hours who communicates a serious threat of physical violence against a reasonably identifiable victim – or who poses a clear and imminent risk of serious physical injury to himself, herself or another person.   (For mor

They claimed that 44 shootings occurred in schools and colleges nationwide since the Newtown, Conn. massacre on Dec. 14, 2012 and Feb. 10 of this year. Out of the 44 shootings, a total of 28 died. To dramatize their numbers, Bloomberg’s groups emphasized that one of these attacks occurred every 10 days.

But their statistics are not what they seem. Included in the numbers are suicides. Also included are late night shootings taking place in school parking lots, on their grounds or even off school property, often involving gangs. As “shootings,” they also include any incident where shots were fired, even when nobody was injured.

From the “How did we miss this one!?” category (thank you Tom W!), we bring you the story of a thug in Portland, OR who robbed a man and then shot his victim in the leg before running off.

While running, he employed the “appendix inside the waistband carry” style of carrying – only Mexican style (sans holster) – at which time he had a holstering malfunction and blew some of his man-parts off.

And probably scorched whatever was left.  That’s good though.  Cauterizing slows the bleeding.

The Illinois State Journal-Register had a big Sunday article about legislators not wanting to “wait and see” with the new concealed carry law.

Frankly, the article could have been titled, “Legislators posturing on new concealed carry law” and frankly, would have been more accurate.

Here’s a couple of bits from the story.

Illinois lawmakers are wasting no time in attempting to make changes to the state’s barely 7-month-old concealed-carry law, weeks before even the first batch of permits are sent out to approved applicants.

Basically, two crewmen of a A-26 were shot down in a combat mission over Laos almost a half-century ago.  The recently found the crash site and excavated it, and identified the bodies.

Recently they were given a burial at Arlington with full honors.  Including a flyover performed by civilians.

(For The Win) – T.J. Oshie was quickly labeled as one of the American heroes of the Sochi Olympics with his clutch performance against Russia on Saturday. In an interview with Pittsburgh Tribune-Review columnist Dejan Kovacevic, he said he believed otherwise. Heroes, he reportedly said (via Kovacevic’s Twitter), is a term that should be reserved for someone other than a hockey player.

The other suspect to flee with his life, Davante Graham, surrendered last week  His attorney claims the case against her client is “circumstantial” – even though there’s a nice video tape of the incident we’ve all seen.  (And a not-as-nice one.)

Another anti-gun state sees hundreds of job move away – this time it is Andrew “Conservatives have no place in the state of New York” Cuomo’s New York State.

Cuomo’s gun control and his political zealotry are costing his state 2,000 jobs and $87 million as Remington scales back its presence in New York State and breaks ground on new facilities in Alabama.

The deal is supposed to be announced Monday, according to Yellowhammer News.

High level sources have informed Yellowhammer News that Remington, one of the world’s largest gun manufacturers, will on Monday join Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley in announcing that they are bringing over 2,000 jobs to Alabama.

The company is viewing the move into Alabama as an expansion, but it will likely impact their Ilion, NY plant as well. The New York facility currently employees around 1,200 people. It is

Like anyone, I love a good conspiracy, especially when it suggests something along the lines of dark government forces working at some level to destroy our liberty (or at least blaming them for alar in apples.) Of late, one can’t seem to log on to Facebook or any gun forum without seeing predictions of our impending doom because some government branch has posted a contract bid for ammunition – The latest being the Department of Homeland Security’s bid for 141,000 rounds of “sniper” ammo.

Granted, if I knew nothing about firearms, ammunition or the industry, I’d probably think the sky was falling too. Problem is that I do know a little something about the industry, so I’m less than impressed with the presentation.

Let me break it down for you:

His attorney, Donna A. Rotunno, calls the damning surveillance video “mostly circumstantial”.

A pair of bottom-feeding thugs held up a senior citizens social club in Gary, IN, seeking to rob the club and patrons of money and valuables.

They came in with guns blazing.  One of the thugs fled when one of the innocent victims pulled his own gun and returned fire.

The second cowardly thug?  He sprung a couple of leaks and hid in the bathroom until police arrived.  He didn’t want any more hot lead supplements in his diet.
