Bill Shedd, president of the American Fishing Tackle Co. (AFTCO) and the latest in the family line to support conservation projects, was voted Californian of the Year by the state's Outdoor Writers Association, one of the highest awards given by the group of over 200 of the top active members of California's media. NSSF Urges Target Shooters and Hunters to Help Prevent Wildfires

The cost of fighting wildfires will increase by nearly $500 million this year, according to new federal study, bringing the annual total to $1.8 billion—a staggering amount that does not include other tolls on property, wildlife, habitat and humans.
