Late last week the Boone and Crockett Club announced that a new record for the largest hunter-harvested grizzly bear had been entered into its books. The massive bruin was taken by Larry Fitzgerald during a hunt last May near Fairbanks, Alaska. Shrimp Fisherman Nets Rare Goblin Shark, Released Alive
It is not unusual for shrimp fishermen in Key West to haul up strange and unusual items, but Captain Carl Moore was flabbergasted when his crew brought an 18-foot-long goblin shark aboard. $60,000 in NSSF Education Scholarships Open to Employees of Voting Member Companies
Employees of companies that support the National Shooting Sports Foundation at the highest level are eligible to apply for education aid through the NSSF Voting Member Scholarship Program. NSSF has again made a total of $60,000 in scholarship funding available for a maximum of 25 winning entries.
NSSF is accepting applications in the Voting Member Scholarship Program through 5 p.m. EST on Monday, June 2, 2014.

Largest Hunter-taken Grizzly Enters Boone and Crockett Records
The largest grizzly bear ever taken by a hunter has been entered into Boone and Crockett records.
The big bruin, taken in 2013 near Fairbanks, Alaska, scores 27-6/16. It missed the World's Record mark by 7/16 of an inch but landed a spot as the second-largest grizzly ever recorded. The reigning World's Record is a skull found in Alaska in 1976.
