Thanks to the tireless efforts of the American Sand Association (aSa) and numerous volunteers, 40,000 acres of currently closed dunes will be reopened for OHV recreation. Hunting is a time of fun and bonding with friends and family, but sometimes a little too much horseplay cn waste a perfectly good opportunity. Melissa Bachman of Winchester Deadly Passion found this out the hard way when she attempted to mount a bale for a better view at a large mule deer buck. Chris Bach Tops AMA Mid-America Cross-Country Season Opener
The AMA Mid-America Cross Country Racing Series hosted its season opener at the Circle W Ranch in Canaan, Indiana, April 20. After having to postpone the original date, racers were treated with near perfect racing conditions, and defending AMA MAXC Champion Chris Bach earned the first Pro Bike win of the season followed by Austin Lee and Mike Witkowski.

About 40 miles outside of Reno, anglers flock to Nevada's Pyramid Lake for its famed Lahontan cutthroat trout. The trout here are among the biggest in the world, and the lake holds 18 records with the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), including the current all-tackle record.
