Video: How Horseplay Can Cost You a Trophy Buck

Thu, 04/24/2014 - 07:27

Hunting is a time of fun and bonding with friends and family, but sometimes a little too much horseplay cn waste a perfectly good opportunity. Melissa Bachman of Winchester Deadly Passion found this out the hard way when she attempted to mount a bale for a better view at a large mule deer buck. Instead, her repeated antics ended with loud guffaws from the entire hunting party. And the buck thanked them for it by springing away. In the end the hunters just laugh it off as a learning experience. http://youtu.be/XPDxCYP5yMo...

Video: Man Fires Prototype 20mm Rifle from the Hip

Thu, 04/24/2014 - 07:20

Shooting from the hip is hardly the best stance for accuracy, and when it comes to a firearm chambered in 20x110mm, it might leave you with some serious pain. Andrew of GY6 Videos managed to get his hands on this massive bolt-action "cannon," and he's not afraid to slinging some lead downrange with style. Of course, the cannon in the video is actually Serbu Firearm's prototype Typhon rifle. Mark Serbu started working on the rifle several years ago as a larger variant of his...

During the Cold War, a long stretch of electrified fences and armed guards tightly controlled traffic between the nations. While the fence was made to limit human travel, wildlife also discovered that they were separated by the insurmountable barrier. Nearly 25 years after the removal of the fence, red deer still respect the old boundaries. According to Read more »

Moultrie Panoramic 150i Game Camera

Wed, 04/23/2014 - 15:39

It’s not often that a product comes out that's really revolutionary. In fact, we often make jokes about it when we see the floods of new product press releases touting some “revolutionary, unique product that will take the industry by storm.” Almost always the product being featured is just the same-old, same-old in a different package. When Moultrie released the first version of the Panoramic 150 camera last year, I thought it was a pretty cool idea, but didn’t give it much thought. I thought I’d wait to see how they were received---then I'd check it out on my own. It must have...

Creedmoor Cup and Eastern CMP Games Come to North Carolina

Wed, 04/23/2014 - 14:42

I began my High Power Rifle career at Camp Butner, North Carolina in a Director of Civilian Marksmanship (DCM) service rifle clinic. I fired an M1 Garand at 200, 300, and 600 yards. At the end of the day, I was so tired I could hardly crawl, but I was hooked forever on shooting High Power Rifle competitions. Since that time, I’ve shot in 20 national championships, earned a Distinguished Rifleman badge, and ran the North Carolina team for several years. The boys who were my junior team still stay in contact with me. It was one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my...
