Bayliner F18: An 18 Foot Fishboat for Under 20K?
Recently I went on assignment to test a Bayliner Element F18, for review on boats.com. (Watch the F18 video boat review, to see it for yourself). While I’ve never been a huge Bayliner fan, I do realize that they fill an important niche in the boating market, and since they haven’t built a dedicated fishing boat in years, I was quite interested in seeing what they came up with. Let me sum up the experience: forget everything you know about Bayliner’s fishing boats. This. Changes. Everything.
...The Neo Mag – Pocket Carry Perfection

...Potential World Record Spotted Bass Released in California

Pro Angler: Finally, a Decent Fishing App?
When the folks from Pro Angler asked me to look at their new app, I wasn’t exactly excited. It may be different for some anglers (younger ones that I, I’m guessing), but when it comes to fishing about the last thing in the world I want to do is use an app. Plus, in my experience, the vast majority of the fishing apps out there basically stink. But personal opinion be danged, as a journalist I have to force myself to look at this sort of thing now and again. Shocker: in this case, I’m actually glad I did.

Reports of red tide and/or fish kills continue to dissipate in the Gulf of Mexico. Discolored water associated with red tide was reported in Corpus Christi Bay but there were no reports of aerosols or dead fish. No other reports of red tide or dead fish have been received along the coast.
As of November 4, the TPWD partner organization, the Red Tide Rangers, reported no red tide cells in water samples from South Padre Island beaches.

The 10 Most Annoying Things for Deer Hunters
Deer season is when it all happens. Many hunters spend all year salivating at the thought of venison chili and backstraps, while others savor the thought of those calm early mornings on the treestand. However, like most things in life, not everything can be perfect.

El Nino Ushers in Weird Waterfowling – Observe & Adapt for Waterfowl Success

...A 90 MPH Center Console Fishing Boat? YES!
At the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, there was some serious power on display—especially when it came to center console fishing boats. A Hydra-Sports 53 Suenos (the largest center console in the world, you can read about it in Hot News from the Miami Boat Show, where we wrote about it just after its introduction last spring) sporting quadruple 627-horsepower Seven Marine engines. A Regulator 41 with quad Yamaha F350’s. A Scout 42 with quad F300 Yamahas. The list goes on and on. But one of the most impressive—and the fastest fishboat of them all—was a Midnight Express 43.
