Man Jumps Zoo Fence to Pet Cougars (VIDEO)

Tue, 07/28/2015 - 11:19

“Here, kitty kitty,” is probably not something you should be saying to a cougar. Then again, you should probably not be petting a cougar either.

That’s exactly what the person in this video did at the the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio. The man hopped the first fence meant to keep visitors safe and began petting one of the cougars through its enclosure. While the man was not in mortal danger because of the fence between him and the animals, he could have easily lost a finger to a hungry mountain lion.

Snake Selfie Ends with $153K Medical Bill

Tue, 07/28/2015 - 11:08

There is a price for everything and, apparently, a snake selfie ends with $153k medical bill along with a very nasty, painful and potentially lethal bite. That is to be expected. Or at least it should have been, but Todd Fassler apparently expected a much more different outcome when he tried to snap a selfie of himself and a rattlesnake.

Extensive Ram recalls may affect you

Mon, 07/27/2015 - 16:02

As you may already know, FCA (formerly Fiat Chrysler) has been hit with the highest punishment ever for transgressions that the NHTSA considered the worst ever for a vehicle manufacturer.  I personally believe that some of the huge fines and other actions are punitive since top FCA management is perceived as stonewalling over 23 recalls.  At the rate that regulators are requiring recalls, I suspect that vehicle prices will stay high or increase since this has to be part of the calculation.

5 Guns for life and liberty in a ‘Red Dawn’ scenario (VIDEO)

Thu, 07/23/2015 - 10:07

The Iraqveteran8888 crew go over their choices for five guns they would grab from off the rack in a situation where they would have to go “inna woods” and Wolverine it up.

While the likelihood of Russian or Chinese paratroopers dropping from the sky may seem far-fetched, the IV8888 guys argue that anything from societal breakdown after stock markets crash due to cyber attacks, a tyrannical government forcing compliance after dissolving our constitution– or an invading force could– present a theoretical situation in which picking five guns from the herd makes sense.

Or at least an interesting discussion.

Cobra Chases Down and Attacks Chameleon (VIDEO)

Wed, 07/22/2015 - 11:19

Are a chameleon’s camouflaging abilities any match for a deadly cobra?

As this interesting clip from National Geographic shows, the answer to that question is a resounding no.

The video shows us a life-and-death battle between a chameleon and a zebra spitting cobra. While chameleons are renowned for their exceptional camouflaging abilities, they are no match for a cobra’s sense of smell or deadly venom…
