The Truth About Guns

VIDEO: What Are Your’s and Your Children’s Rights Should Their Schools Ask About Guns
As government agencies attempt to frame violence with guns as a “public health” issue and videos surface of a certain presidential candidate at one time saying the government can and will come into homes to inspect and verify safe storage laws are being met in her state, the 4th Amendment be damned, it’s clear we live in an era where more anti-gun bureaucrats feel it is their right to pry into our personal lives.
“Protecting children” is the guise these intrusions are masked under and on the surface, it might seem like a fair enough ask.
Bad Science, Faulty Studies Continue Attacks on Hunting, Lead Ammo
By Salam Fatohi, NSSF
Yet another study has been published that claims the use of lead-based ammunition by hunters is the root cause of rampant poisoning of America’s bald eagles.
Like clockwork, the media runs with these “studies” with breathless coverage that hunters are killing bald eagles.
A new Cornell University study posits bald eagles are especially susceptible to lead poisoning as a result of hunters taking game in New York and that using traditional lead component ammunition puts humans at severe risk of being poisoned.
Stoeger Presents “The Opener” a New Short Film on One Duck Hunting Tradition
For the hunters (or to some, the Fudds) among us who live for this time of the year when crops are being cut, the mercury is falling, deer have shed their velvet and are preparing for the rut and the first ducks begin their migrations south, this is THE time of year we live for. Stepping out of the house at first light with my son to head to his baseball game the other day the chill in the air was unmistakable.
Authorities Seize Over 350 Websites Importing Switches And Suppressors From China
U.S. authorities announced on September 11 that they had seized 355 websites used to sell suppressors and conversion kits, known as “switches,” which are used to convert semi-automatic handguns into machine guns. The suppressors, reportedly being imported into the country from China, are highly regulated in the United States under the National Firearms Act, while the switches alone are considered illegal under most circumstances as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) considers them machine guns regardless of whether they are installed on an actual firearm or not.

Anti-Gunners Distort Evidence on Defensive Firearms Uses
A 2023 Pew Research Center poll on gun ownership and public safety in America indicated that the overwhelming majority of Democrat and Democratic-leaning adults (86%) felt the nation’s gun laws should be even more strict. The same poll asked whether gun ownership did more to increase public safety by allowing law-abiding citizens to protect themselves, or tended to reduce safety by giving too many people access to firearms and increasing misuse. More than three out of four Democrats/Democratic leaners (78%) responded that gun ownership did more to decrease safety.

Michigan Man Free After Shooting Ruled Self-Defense
When Christopher Peterson of Inkster, Michigan, had to pull his firearm and shoot his mother’s ex-boyfriend on July 3, he likely had no idea he’d be charged with second-degree murder and have a court fight on his hands.
Thankfully for Peterson, two months after the incident, a district court judge ruled the shooting to be self-defense and dropped the charges against him.
According to police reports, Peterson, 24, was at his home late one evening and got into an argument with 49-year-old Dante Carey, his mother’s ex-boyfriend.

Another Year, Another Worthless Columbus, Ohio, Gun “Buyback”
A recent gun “buyback” in Ohio proves once again that politicians will do anything to make their constituents “feel” safer, whether they really are safer or not.
Over the weekend, Columbus leaders held a so-called “buyback,” which Mayor Andrew Ginther called an “overall safety strategy.” Gift cards of up to $750 were given in exchange for various firearms depending on the type and condition of the guns.
“If gun violence affects your family, then you have a pretty good sense of why this matters,” Ginther told WBNS TV.

In a list of some of the top Western movie anti-heroes (most of them played by Clint Eastwood it seems) one would not expect to see Donald Trump’s name. In fact, even for supporters of Trump, the comparison is apt to bring at the very least a smile of amusement to their face.

It’s An AR-15… It’s An AK-47… No Media, It’s An SKS
Another day, another assassination attempt on former President Trump. Have you ever predicted something, prayed you’d be wrong, then begrudgingly found out you nailed it? That’s what it feels like to see two deranged trash buckets try to take Donald Trump’s life in as many months. Fortunately, the picture being painted is that nobody who voted for Biden or would vote for Kamala Harris knows their way around a firearm enough to be effective with one, and for that, we thank you.

Teacher Threatens to Shoot Unruly Third-Grade Class
Lack of discipline and excessive behavioral problems exhibited by students in the classroom are frequently discussed topics these days. There are many theories on what is causing the issue—soft parenting and lax rules enforcement in schools, social disruptions created by the pandemic, an absence of corporal punishment, the absence of God, broken homes—and just as many theories on how to fix the problem. Back in the Dark Ages when I was still in high school, I once watched a gym teacher bounce a basketball off the head of a kid who wasn’t paying attention after he had repeatedly told the kid to quit talking.

The strange tale of Memphis city officials attempting to get three anti-gun questions on the November ballot despite the proposals violating Tennessee’s firearms pre-emption law has taken a new twist.
As we reported in late July, Memphis city leaders approved several anti-gun measures to appear on the ballot on election day in an attempt to amend the city charter, despite Republican state lawmakers threatening to withhold millions of dollars of state funding if they proceeded with the scheme.
