Why They Want People To Be Angry

Mon, 03/04/2024 - 15:00

A recent opinion piece at the Kansas City Star tells us: “We don’t have to accept the KC Chiefs rally shooting. And we should all be angry”

While this may look on the surface like just another anti-gun screed that divorces fact from context, I’ve noticed that authoritarian progressives have been using the “I want you to be angry!” bit a lot more in recent months. In this article, I’ll not only explore the problems with the piece’s facts and context, but explain why they’re so desperate for anger.

Rock River Arms Announces the BT-2 ATR Ambidextrous Tactical Rifle

Mon, 03/04/2024 - 13:00

I actually have a lot of buddies who are lefties so, while I do poke fun at them for living in a right handed world, I do try and keep an eye out for products that work for them. Rock River Arms (RRA) just announced their latest AR the BT-2 Ambidextrous Tactical Rifle (ATR),which should work with both normal folks, I mean right hand dominant people, as well as lefties (but not the political kind as they are generally against guns).

YOU FIRST: Pope Francis Proclaims That Military Disarmament Is a ‘Moral Obligation’

Mon, 03/04/2024 - 11:00

Pope Francis stands along side the one-world globalists that would have us all eating crickets and owning nothing…and liking it. Of course, you and me owning firearms for personal defense certainly does not fall into the Global Plan. Far from it in fact.

So does it surprise anyone that the left-leaning Pope called for not only the disarmament of the little people, but of militaries as well? It should not.

Sunday he called for just that.

Virginia Democrats Send Nearly 40 Anti-Gun Measures To Governor

Mon, 03/04/2024 - 09:01

With nearly 40 anti-gun measures either already on Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s desk for consideration or headed there this week, the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) is calling on all gun owners in the state to contact the governor as soon as possible.

“The first gun bills have finally landed on the governor’s desk and we need to act NOW!” the group said today in an action alert to members. “While we have no reason to believe that Gov.

The Gun That Changed Absolutely Everything: The German MP43

Sun, 03/03/2024 - 13:22

Certain mechanical contrivances fundamentally transform the human experience. The cotton gin, the jet airplane and the cell phone might be considered typical examples. In each case, the world was a certain way before these things. It was way different afterwards. So it was with the iconic MP43 assault rifle.

The AK rifle is the most-produced firearm in human history. With well over 100 million copies in circulation, Comrade Kalashnikov’s rugged farm implement of an infantry weapon has legitimately shaped the affairs of men.

Senator Files Bill To Protect Gun Retailers From Biden ATF

Sun, 03/03/2024 - 08:00

It’s no secret that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) under President Joe Biden has targeted firearms retailers, constantly claiming that “rogue gun dealers” are fueling violent crime. In fact, the administration has painted gun dealers as enemies of America.

With Biden’s so-called “zero-tolerance” policy for even minor paperwork errors, the ATF has forced hundreds of dealers out of business in the past few years, and prodded others to give up their licenses instead of facing a hearing.

Gun Review: Sauer’s SL5 Turkey Thumpers

Sat, 03/02/2024 - 11:00

Mid-April last year I was sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with long-time friend Eddie Stevenson before sunrise listening to a longbeard hammer the day awake. Before long, the tom was gobbling so close to us we could smell his breath. Problem was, the tom was directly behind us. He skirted to our rear and walked off in the direction of a real hen while never presenting a shot.

As the first morning’s hunt wound down, a band of feral hogs moseyed into a corn feeder about 120 yards distant.

Taiwan Will Not Survive Unless Interior Ministry Starts Issuing Gun Permits

Sat, 03/02/2024 - 08:00

Amid controversy over funding for border security, Ukraine and Israel, one item in the mix that’s getting less attention is Taiwan.

Because there’s not an active war between the Republic of China government on the island and the Chinese Communist Party on the mainland at present, it’s on the back burner. But, with public opinion shifting, American appetite for war going down and an incoming administration that both doesn’t seem to like them and probably won’t go to bat for them (assuming this isn’t a bargaining play of some kind), Taiwan’s defensive needs are very likely to slip off of the American stove entirely in early 2025.

ATF eForms Back Up! Conspiracy Theories Crushed by Steady Hand of Bureaucracy

Fri, 03/01/2024 - 16:06

Well, less than an hour after we took our story live about the ATF eForms website going down and noted all the theories of alarm surrounding the alleged sinister plots to stifle gun companies and gun owners attempting to complete legal transactions because of the shutdown, the site was back up.

At 3:59 Eastern Time today, the site was brought back online. Apparently, it was just some technical glitch or an emergency service that needed to be performed because of some other issue.

Gun Review: The Walther PDP Compact 5-Inch Barrel

Fri, 03/01/2024 - 13:00

The pistol illustrated is a result of my diligent searching for interesting pistols to own, shoot, carry and report on. It has been quite a while since HK introduced their polymer-frame P9 and almost as long since Glock introduced their game changing Glock 17. Polymer frame striker-fired handguns are easily the most popular pistol on the market. They may not engender emotional attachment or the affection of some more prominently styled firearms, but they will definitely save your life when needed.

Kiwis Doing an About-Face on Gun Ban

Fri, 03/01/2024 - 11:00

Five years after the country’s legislation banning the ownership of semi-auto rifles and spending more than a $100 million of tax-funded dollars to compensate existing owners of the rifle in what amounted to gun confiscation, New Zealand officials are looking to revisit the ban and potentially allow at least some residents to own modern sporting rifles once again for competition, hunting, etc.

Unlike the United States, gun ownership is not an enumerated right in New Zealand, rather it has always been a privilege—a privilege that was largely snatched away in 2019 after a Christchurch mass shooting at two mosques by a gunman who espoused white supremacist views left 51 people dead and injured at least 40.

The Pure Evil That Targets Women Is Real, And We Should Be Ready To Defend Ourselves

Fri, 03/01/2024 - 09:00

A story out of Arizona tells us about a man who is being held not only for murder, but the stabbings of multiple women in a number of states. It was a years-long spree that only ended when the stabbing tour came to Arizona.

Twenty-six-year-old Raad Almansoori started his crime spree against women in Florida. While out on bail awaiting trial, he fled to New York, where he elevated the stakes to murder.

A Gun Win in California, You Don’t Say?

Thu, 02/29/2024 - 13:00

A federal judge in California has granted summary judgment to three individuals in a lawsuit challenging that state’s penal code, which permanently denies Second Amendment rights to people who have had felony convictions vacated, set aside or dismissed, and their rights to possess firearms fully restored. The case is known as Linton v. Bonta.

U.S. District Judge James Donato in the Northern District of California wrote, “After multiple hearings and several rounds of briefing, and in light of the guidance provided by New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc.

Sportsmen’s Alliance Creates In-House Litigation Team to Bolster Legal Battles for Sportsmen

Thu, 02/29/2024 - 11:01

Another SAF (the Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation, not the Second Amendment Foundation) has armed up to better fight those who would stifle a way of life for millions of Americans by creating an in-house litigation team. And while the organization’s focus is more on attacks on game laws and fighting limits on hunting than gun rights, there is frequently enough overlap with these issues to where it will benefit all gun owners who like to mix the outdoors with their shooting.

What’s the Definition of a Mass Shooting? Anti-Gun Groups Play Loose With the Numbers

Thu, 02/29/2024 - 07:45

When it comes to reporting news on shootings and gun deaths, the numbers don’t lie…or do they? It’s hard to say when the numbers and measurements don’t even match and groups with an agenda twist the definitions of “mass shooting” to help inflate the numbers.

There were 648 mass shootings in 2020, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Everytown claims there were 636, but the FBI says there were 50. Four additional groups have their own data.

As bump stocks go before the Supreme Court this week, ABC News interviewed Jeremiah Cottle, the creator of the bump stock to get his thoughts on the battle over his invention. Cottle, a decorated military veteran and father of four, originally conceived of the bump stock while recovering from a brain injury sustained serving his country.

The original bump stock, designed in 2009, was made up of a piece of wood, PVC pipe and duct tape.

Wed, 02/28/2024 - 15:00

A Music City rideshare driver got more than his typical fare when a man wanting a ride to some nearby projects became agitated in his car and began making threats. As the rider’s anger grew for unknown reasons, he pulled a gun on the driver in an effort to kidnap him.

The 44-year-old driver, Dalvin Campbell, attempted a call to 911, telling the dispatcher he was being kidnapped at gunpoint.

“Campbell first called 911 around 10 p.m.

Supreme Court Bump Stock Case Starts Today

Wed, 02/28/2024 - 13:05

Today is the day the U.S. Supreme Court will be considering the case challenging the nearly 5-year-old Justice Department rule banning the sale and possession of bump stocks.

The case Cargill v. Garland revolves around the 2019 decision by the Trump Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to redefine bump stock devices as “machineguns.” As most TTAG readers likely know, bump stocks use the recoil of a semi-automatic rifle to bump the trigger, increasing the rate of fire.

Lessons From A Fake Attack On A South Florida Krav Maga Business

Wed, 02/28/2024 - 11:00

There seem to be two big opinions of Krav Maga, the hand-to-hand combat discipline originally developed for Israeli fighting forces. For some people, you can slap an Israeli flag on anything tactical, and it gets +10 HP. After all, it’s the Holy Land and Everyone is Israel is a superhuman commando like Zohan. Plus, all of the women in the IDF are babes with Desert Eagles, right? But, for other people, Krav Maga gets treated like Rex Kwon Do.
