Everyone is familiar with John Browning’s BAR, the Browning Automatic Rifle introduced in 1918 chambered for our service cartridge, the .30-‘06. But do you know about the BAR’s improved version brought out by FN in 1930? It’s called the Model D for “detachable,” referring to the barrel which was quickly detachable. The big drawback of the BAR was the barrel could not be changed in the field, unlike the British Bren or German MG34, both of which have easily replaceable barrels. Machinegun barrels get hot quickly! The standard load-out for a Nazi MG34 included not one, not two, but five spare barrels. The FN D solved this defect and went the Bren one better with interchangeable calibers. My FN D can fire .30-‘06, .308, 8mm Mauser and 7mm Mauser. The mags are different. The BAR still has one thing over the D…. humor. “Did you hear the one about the three Nazis who walked into a BAR?”

PROVO, Utah — A woman who identified herself to authorities as “Satan” was arrested Thursday on multiple charges, including felony aggravated robbery. That’s weird, you wouldn’t expect Satan to be hanging out in Utah of all places.

According to a probable cause statement, police arrived at a 7-Eleven convenience store at 222 West and 300 South in Provo on reports of an aggravated robbery after a female in a wheelchair allegedly hit the cashier in the head with a metal baseball bat and left the scene. Man, she sounds like Hell on wheels.

Officers located the woman – later identified as 37-year-old Cami Ann Cutler – near an intersection. She was still holding the metal baseball bat, and began banging it on the ground in a confrontational manner when instructed to drop it. What I wouldn’t give to have been able to see that.

Cutler was distracted and was successfully taken into custody without injury or further incident. While being questioned following the arrest, Cutler identified herself to police as “Satan.”

Cutler was booked on charges including Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony, as well as Obstruction of Justice and Providing False or Failing to Provide Information to police.

New York May Be the First to Ban – and Confiscate – Bulletproof Vests Not Used in the Commission of Crimes

Amid the debate on firearms comes something else apparently contentious: the issue of protective gear.

As reported by The Washington Free Beacon, New York stands a chance to become the first state in America to outlaw bulletproof vests.

A bill sponsored by Democratic Assemblyman Jonathan G. Jacobson would make it illegal for anyone to sell body armor.

In addition: Possession would be against the law.

Therefore, per the legislation, any resident with a bulletproof vest would be required to give it to the government within 15 days of the law’s passing.

The big question is why would they want a law abiding citizen to not have protective gear? The plebes can not be allowed protection from the lethal force of The King’s Men.
