Weaponsman has blogged about the aggregate problems with the weapons: These Brazilian fuzz are not […]

R.I.P General Paul Tellié, Father of the FAMAS
French military blogs are reporting that General Paul Tellié, the lead engineer of the FAMAS assault rifle, has passed away. The General began working on what would become the FAMAS in the late 1960s. It would take more than a decade before the French military finally decided to replace their aging sub machine guns and MAS-49 battle rifles. I understand Tellié also […]

“Can We Keep Him?” – The 6.5×39 Grendelski
Title Image: The 6.5 Grendel along with two of its developmental predecessors, the 6.5mm PPC and the 6.5×39. The new 6.5×39 Russian “Grendelski” is similar – but not identical to – the cartridge on the right. A stray has followed them home: Russian small arms designers have apparently created a close clone of the 6.5 […]

Border Patrol M4s recalled
An article on Fox News talks about a majority of the agencies service M4s recalled for maintenance issues . Apparently a good 40 percent or 2,000 of their weapons are being taken back for rear echelon maintenance and some officers are weary of not having their service rifles while on the job. The weapons taken away had […]

Why Does .22LR Misfire?
.22Plinkster talks about the 4 scenarios that could cause a misfire in a rimfire gun. This first three reasons are pretty straightforward. A bad firing pin due to dry firing, Ammunition quality, and ammo longevity. The fourth reason is rather interesting and may be enlightening for you as it was for me.

Machine Pistols On Trial: How Viable Are They?
Disclaimer: For the purpose of this article, the term “machine pistol” refers to fully automatic conventionally laid out handguns, not submachine guns, PDWs, or obscenely large pistol-like firearms such as M10s. Also, for video, scroll to the bottom. Machine pistols have been around for about 100 years. As soon as engineers embraced semi-automatic handguns as […]
