A Well-Armed Militia: It’sTime for Veterans to Take a Stand
The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, a document I swore to uphold and defend with my life, states:
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Considering the current government assault on military benefits, and considering the administration’s response to the Benghazi attack, I am wondering just how much consideration some might give to joining our all-volunteer force in the future?
I wonder too, if the Framers imagined a government “Of the People, by the people and for the People” ever reneging on the promises made to those of us who swore our lives to defend this great nation, including its supreme law? Here’s

Bloomberg, who founded Mayors Against Illegal Guns in 2006, co-wrote an op-ed in Politico Magazine with Shannon Watts, who founded Moms Demanding Action after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., just over a year ago. The op-ed announced the merger of the two groups
“To get Congress to listen, we must unite supporters from every walk of life. And that is why our two organizations are merging to create a nationw
Unlawful Duo Found an Empty House – They Realized Too Late a Concealed Carry Permit Holder Was House-Sitting
A man house-sitting for neighbors in Christian, W.Va., on Saturday says he had no choice but to use his firearm in self-defense after he caught two men trying to break into the home, sparking a physical confrontation.
Terry Robbins, a concealed carry permit holder, was reportedly alerted of a possible break-in by the out-of-town homeowners, who had received a phone call from the alarm company. They apparently asked him to go check out the situation.
Robbins says he then caught two men, identified as Jimmy Walker and Justin Blair, trying to break into the house.
“I told them, ‘Freeze! Hit the floor! I will shoot you!’ ” he
Brazen Crook Greeted by Texas Woman and a Shotgun – Guess How His Night Turned Out
An armed Texas woman confronted a home intruder who broke into her home last week, striking both the suspect and possibly his getaway car with an accurate blast. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Cody Everett Barnhill had to be airlifted to Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston.
Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanchez told KTRE-TV that police received a 911 call Thursday night that a man has suffered gunshot wounds at La Quinta Inn in Clute, Texas. When authorities responded to the call, they determined it was the suspect from the burglary gone wrong that occurred earlier in the day.
The incident took place at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to officials. The female homeowner was reportedly outside feeding her cattle moments before she went back inside and found a white male inside her home attempting to steal her property.
The woman managed to grab her shotgun and shoot the suspect, though KTRE-TV reports the details are “still sketchy.” Police didn’t reveal where the man was shot or how serious his injuries are.
“The suspect then fled the home and jumped into a white Toyota C

Story by the Associated Press; curated by Dave Urbanski
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Voters in a small Rhode Island town defeated an effort by gun rights activists Saturday to recall four sitting town councilors who had proposed changing the way gun permits are issued.
The rare recall election was prompted by gun rights supporters who said the four Exeter council members ignored their objections to a failed proposal to allow the attorney general to oversee the town’s concealed weapons permits.
“This was never a gun rights issue,” said Town Council President Arlene Hicks, one of the councilors targeted by the recall. “It started out as a procedural proposal that we made as a council.”
Town election officials reported a higher than expected turnout, with 63 percent voting against the recall. Of the town’s roughly 5,000 registered voters, more than 1,800 turned out to cast their votes on a snowy Saturday in December for a special election that had drawn national attention from advocates on both sides of the gun control debate.
The three other officials involved in the recall effort were Councilmen Cal Ellis, Robert Johnson and William Monahan. All are Democrats. A fifth member, independent Councilman Raymond Morrissey Jr., voted against the resolution and

Anti-Gun Groups Release Unbelievably Dark Ad Evoking Sandy Hook Massacre
Two prominent anti-gun groups on Wednesday released a haunting ad for more gun control evoking the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School that left 26 people, including 20 children, dead.
The spot, “No More Silence,” features children in a classroom, mourning parents, and ends with the image of a gunman entering a school at 9:35 am – the same time the first 911 call came in after Adam Lanza walked in and opened fire in Newtown, Conn., last December.
The Grey Group, a New York-based advertising firm, produced the video pro-bono, BuzzFeed reported.
Outgoing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns is reportedly set to purchase airtime on cable networks to run the ad starting this weekend through the Dec. 14 anniversary of the shooting.
House Approves 10-Year Extension on Plastic Gun Ban
- The House of Representatives voted Tuesday in favor of a 10-year extension for the Undetectable Firearms Act.
- Some Democrats were more in favor of a shorter extension to give lawmakers more time to tighten restrictions on plastic guns and the machines — 3-D printers — that can make them instead.
- Currently, those making 3-D printed guns must included a metal component that can be detected.
- The Senate returns from break next week, just one day before the original ban under the Undetectable Firearms Act expires.

Watch the Pro-Gun Commercial Americans Apparently Aren’t Allowed to See During the 2014 Super Bowl
Daniel Defense, a leading firearms company in the Unites States, wanted to air one of its commercials during the 2014 NFL Super Bowl. However, the ad, which subtly highlights the Second Amendment as a means to protect one’s family, was reportedly rejected by FOX because it violates NFL advertising rules.
“Unfortunately, we cannot accept your commercial in football/Super Bowl spots due to the rules the NFL itself has set into place for your company’s category,” FOX reportedly said in a statement to Daniel Defense.
Armed Homeowner + Former Female Boxer = Almost No Chance of Success for Group of Criminals
When a couple in Oak Hill, Fla., witnessed a group of crooks trying to break into their home on Tuesday, they acted quickly. The woman first alerted her husband, Ira Roberts, so he could arm himself.
Knowing the gun laws in his state, he considered his next move carefully.
“I knew I couldn’t shoot them. Legally you can’t shoot them when they’re running away. So I pumped one into the ground. Which was good, it alerted all my neighbors,” he told WESH-TV.
As the suspects took off running, one of the men was reportedly tackled by one of Roberts’ neighbors. T
The Gun Confiscation Notice an NYC Resident Reportedly Received Will Likely Send Chills Down Your Spine
New York City has reportedly started sending out confiscation notices ordering gun owners to “immediately surrender” rifles and/or shotguns capable of holding more than five rounds of ammunition. It is illegal to possess a rifle or shotgun with the capacity to hold more than five rounds in the city, according to NYC Administrative Code 10-306 (b).
An alleged notice sent to an NYC resident, dated Nov. 18, offers the gun owner the following options:
1. Immediately surrender your Rifle and/or Shotgun to your local police precinct, and notify this office of the invoice number. The firearm may be sold or permanently removed from the City of New York thereafter.
2. Permanently remove your Rifle and/or Shotgun from New York City…
[…]
3. You may call to discuss the matter if you believe your firearm is in compliance, or you may request the option to bring your firearm to a licensed gunsmith for a permanent modification and certification proving that it is permanently modified and in compliance.

‘This Is a Robbery’: What This Brave Store Clerk Said Next Sent Two Thugs Running for Their Lives
When two thugs attempted to rob a Seattle store clerk on Saturday night, they were almost certainly stunned by what their would-be victim said as they pointed a gun in his face.
“I have a bigger one than you do,” Robert Moore reportedly told the unsuccessful robbers.
The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. on Saturday night as Moore was checking out a customer at the Morning Star Mini Mart in Seattle. He saw one man stay near the entrance of the store while another man went up to the counter, pulled out his gun and tried to rob the store.
“This is a robbery,” the man said.
Believing his gun looked like it could be fake, Moore bravely stood up to the would-be robber,
Have You Noticed the Subtle Trick the ‘Anti-Gunners’ Have Apparently Started Using?
Quick: Think about any recent gun-control article or statement written by or about someone who favors the gun-control argument. Have you noticed anything? NRA News contributor Colion Noir has: the term “gun control” is being replaced by “gun safety.” And he’s none too happy about it.
“Unless they changed the gun safety rules, which are pretty much the Bible of the gun world – so I’m pretty sure they’re still the same – I don’t see how any of the proposed measures by anti-gunners will aid in the safety of gun use,” Noir says of the “gun safety placebo” in
‘I Don’t Think the NRA Is a Villain’: Oscar-Winning Actor & Obama Supporter’s Surprising Idea on Guns & the 2nd Amendment
It’s a rare occasion to see CNN host Piers Morgan sit silently for nearly two minutes. It’s also a rare occasion for him to allow a guest to praise the NRA uninterrupted on his program.
However, that’s exactly what happened when Academy Award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss spouted his theory about guns and gun ownership.
It was near the end of a lengthy interview, covering a wide range of topics like the actor’s new, non-profit Dreyfuss Initiative to teach civics and his struggles from being bi-polar, when the CNN host brought up his pet peeve: “The power of the NRA and the apparent intransigence of Washington to do anything about that.”

Ohio Man Endures Every Legal Gun Owner’s Nightmare After Calling Police to Report a Shooting
An Ohio man will finally get his legally-owned pistol back nine months after police confiscated it following his controversial arrest in February. He was never convicted of any crimes and his arrest occurred after he called police to report a potential crime in progress.
The city of Cleveland reportedly agreed this week to settle the federal lawsuit filed by Derrick Washington over what he says was the illegal seizure of his .38-caliber handgun. Police had refused to return his gun even after a city prosecutor refused to press charges due to a lack of evidence.
The ordeal began on Feb. 10 when Washington ca
