City In Tizzy Over Soldier With Crude Fake Gun Dean Weingarten

Arizona – -(Ammoland.com)- How the mighty have fallen. A soldier, in uniform, with a pack and a clearly fake gun causes an entire section of Australian civilization to go into the “vapors”.

Throughout most of the rest of the world, there would hardly be a comment. Seeing soldiers on exercises is common and only slightly noteworthy.

Team Honey Badger: Raising Fearless Kids in a Cowardly World

Sun, 12/13/2015 - 17:04
Team Honey Badger, Raising Fearless Kids in a Cowardly World available now from Amazon.

Biloxi, Mississippi (Ammoland)  The gun culture loves to use the terms “sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs.” Naturally, responsible gun owners like to consider themselves to be the sheepdogs of the world, keeping an armed watch over society’s flock. But what about our children? Our kids cannot move about the world as armed sheepdogs. Nonetheless, we don’t want them to be just another sheep either.

The Honey Badger is not the largest, strongest, or fastest animal in the world but, it has been given the title “World’s Most Fearless Creature”. We like to ascribe animal qualities to people; sly as a fox, wise as an owl, stubborn as a mule.

Our kids must face bullies, both physical and psychological, every day....

Slick Gun Grabbers

Sun, 12/13/2015 - 15:27
West Virginia Citizens Defense League

Charleston, WV -(AmmoLand.com)- Just one day after the San Bernardino terrorist attack, members of the US Senate tried to attach the Manchin-Toomey bill to another bill not related to the Second Amendment.

They did not even wait on the victim’s funerals. They attempted to capitalize on terrorism as quickly as possible.

The attempt failed.

The WVCDL does not generally get involved in national issues. Except this one hits close to home, being authored and pushed by Senator Joe Manchin, who was elected on commercials depicting him firing a rifle into the Cap and Trade bill, in an attempt to paint himself as pro-gun.

We ask that our membership politely call Senator Manchin’s DC office and let him know he does not represent West Virginia with his gun control efforts.

And as soon as you hang up from...

There’s No Place Like Kansas for a Late Season Pheasant Hunt

Kansas Outdoors; Photo courtesy of Pheasants Forever Pheasants Forever

St. Paul, MN -(AmmoLand.com)- Here in Kansas, we’re excited to report great conditions across the state have laid the foundation for an excellent pheasant season.

As a result, our biologists report that farmers are seeing more pheasants than they have in years. Improved habitat, good weather and a delayed wheat harvest provided ideal conditions for pheasant nesting across much of Kansas. And the prognosis is looking even better for bobwhite quail, if you’re interested in a mixed bag (which only adds to the fun).

That’s why I invite you to Kansas before the season ends....

Protect Your Family – Prepare for the Worst

Protect Your Family Illinois State Rifle Association

Chatsworth, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- The closing months of 2015 provide chilling proof of just how successful Obama has been in engineering the decline of the USA.

In less than 8 years, the USA has gone from world power to whimpering “also ran.” There is no better illustration of this sad state of affairs than the happenings of the last several weeks.

In October, cultists bombed a Russian airliner killing more than 200 people. In November, cultists bombed and shot more than 100 people in attacks on...

Anti-Gunners Push for More Gun Control in California

Sun, 12/13/2015 - 10:41
California Illinois State Rifle Association

Chatsworth, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- The last few weeks have to be placed in the “never a dull moment” category, if you keep such things.

When the terrible shootings occurred in California the anti-gunners were having a field day dancing in the blood of the victims. It was a “workplace violence,” they claimed, and gun control would be the solution. On Thursday December 3rd, HR 3762, known as the Restoring American Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, came up for a vote.

In typical left wing fashion, members of the anti-gun tribe tried to attach anti-gun...

AR-15 Podcast 150 – Holiday Gift Guide

Sun, 12/13/2015 - 10:11

DeKalb, Illinois – Reed, J.W. Ramp, and J.D. are back for episode 150 of  the AR-15 Podcast. Christmas is right around the corner, and the boys turn their attentions to a holiday gift guide for the firearm enthusiast holiday. First up is the announcement of the veteran giveaway for the Vortex 3x Prism optic! The winner of the other drawing is coming so keep listening!

So what’s on everyone’s list? J.W. kicks things off with his top picks. First on the list is a buttstock adaptor that allows buffer tube rifles like the AR platforms to have a “Swiss style” folding stock for easy transportation. Practice tops out J.D.’s list with a request for a range membership. Not a bad idea for a gift that keeps on giving all year. Reed has his eye on some upgrades for existing rifles such as new safeties, magazines, and stocks. And of course, we can’t forget ammo. It seems there’s never enough. So if all else fails, bring the bullets.

Tune in next week as the AR-15 Podcast has one...

Nebraska Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

Lincoln, NE -(AmmoLand.com)- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will burn tree piles, as weather and snow cover allow, at several sites across the state.

Tree piles are created by the removal of invading trees in grassland or timber stands or from trees damaged in wildfires or storms. Removal of tree piles will open grasslands and timber for continued management, eliminate a wildfire fuel source and eliminate sites conducive to the germination of noxious and invasive plants.

Late-season timber and grassland burns also will be conducted to suppress invading...
