Power, Performance, Price–the POF-5

Sun, 10/05/2014 - 09:46

The POF-5 may look like your run-of-the-mill MP5 knock-off, but it isn't. These economical imports are versatile contenders. We've put 4,000 rounds through these two with only 5 hiccups. Even when they're filthy, they keep kicking out brass (and steel). They're pistols, but a simple arm brace makes them even more effective. Check out our review.

Remington Ultimate Muzzleloader

Sat, 10/04/2014 - 10:19

The Remington 700 Ultimate Muzzleloader is unlike any front loader I have had my hands on. The bolt-action front loader is as close to a Remington 700 as you can get, which should open more doors for early season hunters who may have doubts about muzzleloaders. But is it the ultimate, hard hitting, long range early-season hunting gun?

VTAC Brokos Belt–What’s under your bed when the Revolution starts?

Fri, 10/03/2014 - 07:37

Less than a decade ago the standard for military assaulters was a 2.5 inch thick super stiff belt, to which you attached your pistol and pistol mags. Usually with duct tape. They were heavy, uncomfortable, and had a bad habit of rubbing your body raw when you wore them over 2 hours. In short, they sucked, but they were all we had. You don’t know what you are missing until you get an awesome piece of gear. And the VTAC Brokos is that.

Top 5 reasons we don’t shoot more often

Thu, 10/02/2014 - 14:11

This is not a scientific study, but I did ask some of my friends recently who own firearms why they don't hit the range more often. I thought their answers were pretty interesting, some I emphatically agreed with and others less so. Maybe their responses will resonate with you. Then again, maybe they won't. But feel free to provide any insight on why you think more folks don't shoot more often.

Smith & Wesson M&P .38

Thu, 10/02/2014 - 11:57

Most coverage of concealed carry guns focuses on thin, polymer framed autos that try to pack increasingly larger rounds into smaller packages. Revolvers are treated as antiquated. But Smith & Wesson hasn't given up on the wheel gun, and the new M&P Bodyguard with an even more effective Crimson Trace laser is making a compelling case for the old-school five shot.
