.22LR On The Horizon
Dean Weingarten reports:
I talked to Dan Compton at the Shot Show about what was going on with .22 production. Everyone is interested in the situation with the ongoing .22 ammunition bubble for the last three years. Store shelves have been empty more often than not. Dan is a Senior Product Line Specialist for Vista Outdoors, which includes CCI and Federal brands. I also talked with other people at the Vista booths and in the industry.
Over the last year, the decision was made to increase .22 rimfire production. Now it will take about a year to implement that decision. Part of that decision is based on the belief that the overall market has expanded to include more new shooters, young shooters, women and urban shooters.

Scientific Analysis Of Lubricants
Andrew follows up on his October 2015 article which caused a bit of a firestorm. I believe this is well worth your time to read.
7.62×39 To The Neck And Survived
The following case study is of a friend of mine (written with his permission) who was shot through the neck by an AK-47 during an operation from a range of about 150 meters. The bullet entered the back of his neck just right of the midline and then blew out the front of the left side of his neck. Remarkably, he not only survived, but has subsequently made a near-complete recovery, and has conquered both the North and South Poles on foot! This case study is fascinating from both a terminal ballistics perspective, as well as from a medical perspective regarding the immediate and delayed effects of the temporary cavitation, or pressure wave, emanating from the high-velocity bullet as it passed through his neck.

On “Engaged In The Business”
The eloquent Michael Z. Williamson pokes all kinds of holes in the executive order unveiled yesterday.
ATF has guidelines for what constitutes “Engaging in the business” of selling firearms, though has no concrete definitions on how many guns one may sell. The new “advisory” they just published as part of President 0’s new “gun control” push simply reiterates exactly what they already say.
Here is a layman’s summary of the matter:
To buy new guns at wholesale, one must have an FFL–Federal Firearm’s License, which come in several flavors for selling, smithing, manufacturing, ammunition, explosives, and with addenda for import or restricted National Firearms Act weapons–silencers, machine guns, short barrels, destructive devices and certain oddities.
If one plans to “Engage in the business” of selling firearms, new or used, an FFL is required.

I really need your help. The list is a bit lean this month. If you are aware of any that are not on the list, please use the contact form to get it added to the list.
Specific Safeguard
“The Bill of Rights was added as a specific safeguard to prevent the federal government from denying Americans those guaranteed rights,” said Governor Abbott. “Today, the President trampled the purpose and substance of the Bill of Rights by unilaterally imposing Second Amendment restrictions. After failing to pass gun control measures through Congress, the President is yet again resorting to unilateral executive action in place of the democratic process. Despite the President’s latest attempt to undermine our liberty, Texas will take every action to protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.”

DOJ Cross-Checking Gun Buyers With Terror Lists
A federal class-action lawsuit filed this week accuses the Justice Department of treating “every potential gun owner like a terrorist” by requiring the cross-checking of names of firearm purchasers with those on secret watch lists.
Paloma Capanna, an attorney, filed a complaint this week against the Justice Department’s top brass in Rochester, New York, to raise objections to the federal government’s use of rosters containing the names of suspected terrorists when reviewing proposed firearm purchases. Ms. Capanna is a policy analyst with the Shooters Committee on Political Education, a New York-based gun rights group.

Without Due Process
I had planned on writing some comments about the above video, but the folks at Bravo Company USA have hit the nail on the head here. Denying an individual the right to travel by plane is vastly different than denying an individual’s constitutionally protected rights. You do not have a right to fly on a plane. You do have a right to keep and bear arms.
How Is This Even Possible?
Willful misdirection to further an agenda, or ignorance are the only options I can see. Either should be grounds for dismissal.
