Asm. Donnelly’s AB 1563 “Shall-Issue” Handgun Carry License Bill Shot Down in Committee

Wed, 04/30/2014 - 10:14

In a party line-vote, the California Assembly Public Safety Committee failed to pass AB 1563, Assemblyman Tim Donnelly’s handgun carry license reform bill. The measure, sponsored by gun rights group California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees (CAL-FFL), would have replaced the current unconstitutional system with an entirely new, “shall-issue” framework. Wed, 04/30/2014 - 10:11

It was more than eight years after the harvest of my first cougar before I again found myself under a tree with a lion in it. Midway USA Presents Larry’s Short Stories – the Great Argentina Dove Shoot

Wed, 04/30/2014 - 10:01

There’s more to an Argentina dove shoot than pulling the trigger and seeing puffs of feathers – though that’s the best part.  But answer this question: “If you take every shot in range, can you run the gun?” These Benellis hold five rounds each; can you go five-for-five on doves?  If so, and if you can do it consistently, you deserve some kind of medal – because it’s really, really difficult. Let me paint a picture; you may be at the edge of standing corn rows, with a harvested field to your front, or you may be under a shade tree with your back to the roost.  Your field of...

Benchmade Adamas 275 Hard Use Folding Knife

Wed, 04/30/2014 - 08:00

If I remember correctly, adamas means unconquerable or invincible in Greek. When their era of prosperity came, the Romans adopted the word to describe the hardest steel and sturdiest iron. It is from this that the word adamant was derived. It's easy to see why Benchmade gave this name to their premier line of "hard use" folders. Being the skeptic that I am, I approached the Benchmade Adamas 275 with an eyebrow raised and my sleeves rolled up.
