We’ve debunked the Australian model of gun control many, many times. Suffice it to say, America’s Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms is subject to neither arguments of social utility nor the democratic process. If proponents of civilian disarmament wish to remove Second Amendment protections against ANY government infringement on Americans’ gun rights, there’s a process for doing so. Not that it would disarm Americans, but until and unless gun control proponents seek this remedy, the letters STFU (in a pro-First Amendment sort of way) apply.

“Cardell Hayes has been indicted on four charges, including second-degree murder, in the death of former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith,” cnn.com reports. “The other charges are attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage and aggravated criminal assault with a firearm. Smith’s wife, Racquel, was wounded in the shooting.” I guess the defense’s contention that Mr. Hayes shot Mr. Smith in self-defense didn’t fly. Let’s see what the judge/jury thinks . . .

How could this be the “untold history” of the Maxim Silencer when someone’s telling it? I know: previously untold. But once anyone watches the video, that’s it. Told ya! In fact, this brace of AAC employees told this untold history some five years ago. (Does untold ever get old?) The most amazing bit: Maxim sent the silencer through the mail. Would that we had such “easy access” to guns and silencers. These days, Hell would be cold.

Nicole Arbor doesn’t think people should carry guns. Her hair-tossing, boob bouncing “arguments” are nothing new: the Constitution was written a long time ago. It’s no longer valid. (So there. Nuh.) Armed self-defense doesn’t work. “If someone wants to shoot you, you will be shot,” she pronounces. “If the Secret Service has a hard time protecting the President, you got no f*cking chance.” And “if people are trying to kill you, maybe you should stop being an a**hole.” And on and on. Bottom line: let’s hope no one sticks it in this particular example of crazy. Alas, I’m sure they will.

Unlike the Obama administration, I’m going with ISIS rather than ISIL. The “L” stands for the Lavant — an area larger than Syria and Iraq (including Lebanon and Jordan). Anyway, the remote control gun above indicates that ISIS is nothing if not creative in its desire to control the oil fields that sustain its economy. While antis insist that civilian disarmament is key to preventing an abuser from shooting their victim, the truth is that early detection and intervention is a far more effective approach, both in terms of isolating the victim from the abuser and isolating the abuser from the victim (e.g., incarceration). You may have heard about a negligent discharge at a California training course run by an instructor working for James Yeager’s Tactical Response. Instructor Tim Morris threw down his gun — just to prove a point. Don’t baby your gun! Yes, well, Morris sent a round into a nearby vehicle. James Yeager’s response is weak sauce: as confrontational as it is conciliatory, accusing the students of not being genuine, hating on California and telling critics to FOAD. A simple apology would have sufficed.

Gun control advocates are inveterate bloody shirt wavers. They never miss an opportunity to exploit firearms-related deaths to further the cause of civilian disarmament. Regardless of the circumstances of those deaths and the lack of an impact gun control would have had on those particular cases. What’s not on view: hundreds of thousands of annual defensive gun uses and the tens of millions of disarmed people killed by tyrannical governments all around the globe. In that sense, I’m “ghost voting” for gun rights on behalf of my murdered grandparents and millions of Jews exterminated by the Nazis. Godwin be damned.

“I shot a gun for the first time and decided to share my initial thoughts about it,” Shane Fazen writes at his YouTube channel. “I talk about how difficult it is to be accurate, how to jam a gun by squeezing the barrel, the tendency to aim down, and a few other interesting points that led me to believe that unless you’re a skilled shooter and practice force-on-force combatives, then guns are not quintessential.” I don’t think that word means what he thinks it means. Don’t crouch down when under fire? CBS’s Sunday Morning devoted an entire program to guns yesterday. Needless to say, their attempts to appear neutral on the topic were not entirely successful. From a pro-gun perspective, the end result was, at best, a bit confused. Like this misleading look at the Second Amendment, which starts as it means to finish — making Americans’ Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms seem as malleable as turkish taffy. It isn’t. A point that Sunday Morning was incapable of providing to its audience. Surprised?

Now that President Obama has used executive orders to appear like he’s doing something about “gun violence,” Oregon’s Governor plans to follow suit. When? What? Not specified. Why? Because guns! Suffice it to say, Oregon’s “universal background check” law was all the civilian disarmament advocates wanted. You know…at the time. Until it passed.
