Guns Save Life

It’s official.  Joe Biden’s miserable term as President is over.  Biden looked very unsteady on his feet today ahead of the transfer of power.  Jill’s probably going to put him in a retirement home later today.  Or maybe they’ll bring the retirement home to him.

I predict that he doesn’t see the end of Trump’s second term.  In fact, he’ll be lucky to see Christmas 2025.

Meanwhile President Trump and his team will likely usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.  Of course, the left will try to hamstring him at every opportunity by filing endless lawsuits after shopping for activist federal judges willing to ignore the rule of law.  These may slow Trump down in places, but look for consumer optimism to skyrocket along with that of businesses.

Personally, after Biden’s antagonistic stunt of awarding the nation’s highest civilian honor to George Soros, Bono, Hillary Clinton and a handful of other non-luminaries, Donald Trump needs to counter with his own list of recipients.

I’d suggest Derek Chauvin, Kyle Rittenhouse, George Zimmerman, Darren Smith, Shawn Ryan, Joe Rogan, Matt Bracken, Rick Grenell, and Elon Musk for starters.  Oh yeah, and the kid from Covington High School.

Anyway, on a more serious note… here’s another guy who deserves it for exceptional heroism at great risk to himself.  Repeatedly.

Pretty sure that’s an MG-42 under some add-ons.  I’ve held one of those recently.  Even in my current excellent physical condition (thank you TRT and to my professional physical trainer) it has some mass to it.  The belt this guy’s wearing takes a big part of that weight from this guy’s arms as well as helping to control the…  impressive recoil.

Still, it’s not for soy drinkers or old folks who need a “Help I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” alarms.  And if you would piddle yourself firing your first shot from a Glock pistol, then this definitely isn’t for you.  Range owners don’t like cleaning up explosive diarrhea from the floor.

At our Chicagoland GSL meeting, we enjoyed the company of a longtime government worker affiliated with the voting in Cook County.

While we don’t wish to identify this individual, we were told that early voting participation in Cook County is up between 60 and 150%, depending on the precinct compared to the 2020 election which they use as a “like” event.  (I believe that in the 2022 election, there was a 19% voter participation overall in Cook County, but I may be misremembering what was said.)

In short, people are motivated and then some to vote.  MUCH more so than in the last presidential election cycle.

We’ll see if it’s Kamala’s failed time in the Biden/Harris regime running America (into the dirt) has people motivated, or if it’s the appeals to fears and emotions (and the “Trump is evil” mind virus) that rules the day among those voting.

The map from 270towin shows bad, bad news for the gun-grabbing duet of Big Cackling Kamala and her Knuckleheaded campaign partner Timmy Walz.  It shows Team Trump likely coming away with over 300 electoral votes to Que-mala’s low 200s.  Not that Trump supporters should rest on their laurels as the Big Cheat will be in full swing where it’s allowed to continue unimpeded.

In another “America last” move, Chicago’s Mayhem Mayor Brandon Johnson has plans for “massive cuts” to the Chicago Police budget.  “Defund the police” level of cuts.

Because that’s worked out so well elsewhere…

Unless, of course, your goal is to destroy our nation.

CPD is also preparing for massive cuts — defund-level cuts — to the police budget.

Second City Cop shared a rumor that none other than Cook Co. State’s Attorney, about to “retire” at the end of her term, will take over the COPA – aka the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

Three steps forward, 2 steps back, we should be stable.

Nerd stuff: We upgraded our infrastructure, again. We moved from a copper to a fiber backbone. Server links are now up to 25Gbit/second. Everything went smoothly until we started our final tests. It appears that the new switch defaulted ports in the wrong direction.

This default blocked traffic from our distributed network file system. The switch has been beaten into submission, and is now performing its duties correctly.
