The 2nd Amendment Does Not Grant A Right
In speaking with many fellow gun-owners, I have come to realize that most people don’t know that the Second Amendment does not give us the right to bear arms. The Second Amendment states that the right to bear arms “shall not be infringed”; it does not confer that right. The Second Amendment is an admonition to government that it may not take away your right to bear arms, which is inherent.

Proposed Assault Weapon Ban Of 2018
I can’t believe that this was written in the heat of the moment. This has probably been sitting on a shelf, waiting for the right time to propose it. They are going after everything — down to specifics on model numbers of weapons banned and exempted by the ban.

DIY Backyard Berm Project
Personally, I would have liked to have seen holes drilled in the ties and then supported with metal rods to aid in long term stability. After that step, I would recommend back filling the dirt to be flush with the ties on the back and sides.

Sig Sauer Safety Warning and Recall Notice
SIG SAUER, Inc. has determined that a limited number of rifles in the SIG716 DMR®, SIG516® Carbon Fiber and SIGM400® Predator models are subject to a Safety Warning and Recall Notice. Some models were built with a two-stage SIG SAUER trigger that may have an improperly heat-treated hammer. Over time, this could result in a trigger malfunction creating a significant safety hazard. SIG SAUER is issuing a mandatory recall to replace the hammer and trigger assembly in these specific rifles. This recall does not affect any military or law enforcement rifles or any SIG MCX®/SIG MPX® products.
SIG SAUER will correct any of the affected firearms at no cost to the customer.
The firearms affected by the recall can be identified by the presence of a SIG mark etched into the hammer.

CMP 1911 Pricing
The buzz surrounding the World War II-era 1911s destined to be released to the public through the Civilian Marksmanship Program is amazing.
CMP is ready to sell thousands of surplus pistols, assuming President Trump signs the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which Congress recently passed.
It’s one of the hottest events the gun community has ever seen.
CMP is feeling the heat too.
Steve Cooper is the general manager of CMP North as well as their marketing manager.
He said 1911-hungry collectors need to “pump the brakes” a bit.

CMP To Sell 1911 Pistols
The 2018 National Defense Authorization Act was approved Thursday to include a plan to transfer the U.S. Army’s remaining stock of .45 ACP M1911A1 pistols to the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
Added as an amendment while the NDAA was in debate in the House Armed Service Committee, it would speed up the transfer of potentially the largest remaining stock of military surplus World War II-era handguns in government hands to the public. The mammoth legislation, which outlines $700 billion in overall defense spending, cruised to final approval on a voice vote in the Senate and now heads to President Trump.
“I call upon the President to sign this important legislation into law—and in doing so acknowledge that this is the level of defense spending necessary to meet current threats, prepare for the challenges of an increasingly dangerous world, and keep faith with our men and women in uniform,” said U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the Armed Services Committee chairman.

It’s ‘insane’ that civilians can buy semiautomatic assault rifles
A Trump administration nominee for a top Pentagon job told Congress on Tuesday that it’s “insane” civilians can buy semiautomatic assault rifles — like the type used in Sunday’s deadly church shooting in Texas.
“I’d also like to — and I may get in trouble with other members of the committee — just say how insane it is that in the United States of America a civilian can go out and buy a semiautomatic assault rifle like an AR-15, which is apparently the weapon that was used,” said Dr. Dean Winslow, the nominee for assistant secretary of defense for health affairs, during his confirmation hearing in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Paul Ryan Killing Major Pro-Gun Legislation in Congress
Congressman Jeff Duncan is warning that his legislation, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (Share) Act, is on life support in Congress.
He has been pressuring Paul Ryan to schedule a vote on the bill and he has finally received a response.
Congress will vote on it, but he will have to remove the most important pro-gun provisions. No concealed carry reciprocity… no deregulation of suppressors… just a bunch of token, feel good provisions. On top of that, Ryan and the GOP want Duncan to add Dianne Feinstein’s latest gun ban bill as an amendment. Yes, it is that bad.
The Left has done a number on Congress, convincing them that it would be suicide to pass these major pro-gun reforms. Many are running scared and refusing to vote for any pro-gun bill.
