Legislators in Wisconsin passed multiple bills Tuesday which would allow off-duty and retired law enforcement officers to carry guns on school property and do away with a 48-hour waiting period on gun sales.

The defendants were arrested Wednesday and are being charged with unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm; possession of a firearm and/or ammunition by an illegal alien, possession and sale of a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A federal grand jury indicted five individuals in for various firearms-related charges stemming from a gun trafficking investigation conducted in Baltimore, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

A federal judge last week tossed out a lawsuit from a gun control group challenging Kansas over what has been called the strictest Second Amendment protection law in the nation. The suit, filed last year in U.S. District Court by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, aimed to take Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback (R) and the state to task over the Sunflower State’s Second Amendment Protection Act.
