Following on the heels of similar controversial efforts in other states to support expanded background checks, the group released a report this week contending one in 18 private sales in Oregon are to those who can’t have a gun. Read the full story here and the Bloomberg report below.

Rand Paul to run for president in 2016 (VIDEO)

In an expected move, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul announced his plans Tuesday to be on next year’s presidential ballot.

According to his website, Paul is “running for president to return our country to the principles of liberty and limited government” and is “one of the nation’s leading advocates for liberty.”

Paul, who is a physician, husband and father of three, claims he is against government overreach and, among other things, opposes Obamacare, believing that freedom is the better choice.

Will police confiscate guns if the government orders it?

Should an absolute, end-of-the-world-type disaster occur or should the government simply try to outlaw firearms, many people are fearful that the local or federal law enforcement officers will start knocking on doors and taking away guns and ammunition.  Frankly, I don’t believe that’s going to happen, but that doesn’t make the fear of it any less real or warranted to others.
