Want a gun, keep the Constitution

Tue, 10/20/2015 - 12:16

Among the arguments made by gun control advocates are to be found examples that are mean-spirited or just plain silly, but one I came across recently is the most inane I’ve seen in a good long while—and that’s saying something.  Salon.com writer D. Watkins has a proposal for those of us who wish to exercise gun rights:  “Want a gun? Take a bullet: Take this, gutless NRA cowards — you can have a gun, once you understand the pain of being shot.”

Falling into the ring of fire with a S&W 460 Magnum (VIDEO)

Mon, 10/19/2015 - 17:10

Top Shot Chris Cheng steps up from his traditional .22 rimfire trick shots to the beefy .460 Smith and experiences the “ring of fire” first hand.

The .460 has been around for about a decade and is a stretched and (if it can be imagined) more powerful version of the vaunted .454 Casull for which  Smith designed their beefed up X-frame revolvers to help contain it.

Not content to set the roman candle off with the more traditional long-barreled XVRs, Cheng and co. went with the shorty 3.5″ version and the unburnt powder produces some interesting pyrotechnics.

Bonus points for the Man in Black background music.

A U.S. Appeals Court upheld that gun control laws passed in New York and Connecticut following the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School do not violate the Second Amendment.

The 57-page ruling released Monday specified that laws prohibiting large-capacity magazines and features commonly attributed to assault weapons in New York and Connecticut are constitutional.

The cases were brought to the appellate court by numerous state gun rights groups.

This article will be updated with more information throughout the day.
