MIAMI, FLORIDA – A woman was shot after picking up a bag that contained a loaded handgun while riding in a vehicle with her boyfriend, according to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident took place around 2:45 a.m. on the Dolphin Expressway near Northwest 17th Avenue.

According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, the woman was seated in the right front seat of a gray Dodge SUV as the couple was traveling east on the highway.

FORESTVILLE, MICHIGAN – A home invasion suspect was shot by a homeowner early Saturday morning and is now in police custody. According to a news release from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 4:50 a.m. in the Village of Forestville.

A 911 call was received reporting the home invasion during which dispatchers were told that an occupant had been stabbed during the intrusion but was able to gain access to a firearm and shoot the suspect.

SEFFNER, FLORIDA — A man is dead after he became a little too greedy, even for a criminal. Police say the robber approached a man on the road who was attempting to repair his broken-down truck. It all happened around 11 p.m. on Tuesday the 4th.

The robber announced his intentions, and the driver gave him numerous items. Police say the robber began to walk away, but he decided that he wanted more.

CLEVELAND, OHIO — Two people were shot at a gun range in Cleveland on December 23rd when a man had a negligent discharge with his Glock 17.

Video of the incident was shared with media in the weeks after the event, and clearly shows what happened. The man took his Glock 17 out of his bag and began manipulating it while it was loaded and pointed at one of the women standing next to him.

WEDDINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA – A man was shot by a relative after breaking into their home and making threats of violence toward the occupants. Deputies from the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6000 block of Bluebird Hill Lane Wednesday to a reported breaking and entering of a home.

When deputies arrived on scene the suspect had already fled. One of the homeowners identified him as Tony Sanders II, 34, of Charlotte.

ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA — A thief made off with several dozen firearms after ripping the front door off an Asheville gun store early Friday morning, according to police. The western location of Carolina Guns and Gear, located at 3106 Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville, was burglarized. The company also has a location in Asheboro, a city located in the central part of the state.

APD officers were able to review surveillance video footage of the crime.

YORK, PENNSYLVANIA — An unidentified 34-year-old man was shot and killed by the owner of an Asian restaurant after he tried robbing the cashier, according to police. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. on January 4th.

Police say the restaurant owner was the one who fired the fatal shots, and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not clear if the suspect was actually armed or not.

GARLAND, TEXAS — A 14-year-old child thug is under arrest after police say he shot and killed 3 teens inside a convenience store, also shooting and injuring an employee. One of the teens inside the store was there to order food for his family.

The teen was seen on surveillance video getting out of the passenger door of a white truck, opened the front door of the store and fired 20 rounds from a .40 caliber handgun.

GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA — A 17-year-old is dead after police say he and two others went into a tobacco and vape shop, armed with guns and looking to score.

It happened Monday night just before 8 p.m. and police were called to the location after a report of a robbery. A total of three men went into the store and ended up taking an undisclosed amount of money while holding the employees at gunpoint.
