The Truth About Guns
Quote of the Day: It’s An Industry Problem
“This letter in no way reflects any derogatory reasons for such action on your behalf. But rather one of industry. Unfortunately your company’s line of business is not commensurate with the industries we work with.” – BankUnited manager Ricardo Garcia quoted in BankUnited Discriminates Against Gun Dealers, Local Store Owners Claim [at miaminewtimes.com]
BREAKING: Facebook Removing Regional Pro-Gun Everytown for Gun Safety Pages
And . . . they’re gone. In the last half hour Facebook removed all the Everytown for Gun Safety YOUR STATE HERE pages run by pro-gun peeps. (We barely managed to screen cap Illinois Everytown page for this post.) As Boss Rojak grunted in The King of Comedy, the fighting’s in rounds. Round one went to the guerrilla gun guys who snapped up the Everytown for Gun Safety Facebook page when Mayor Bloomberg’s anti-ballistic bully boys forgot to do so prior to the gun control group’s official launch. Round two went to Bloomberg. Round three? Who knows? But if you think a hoplocidal media magnate can stop hundreds of Internet savvy gun rights advocates from spreading the love, think again. Mainstream media? Sure. The Intertubz? Not a chance. [h/t DrVino]

Question of the Day: When Should You Teach Your Child to Shoot?
I spent a good part of Easter weekend assembling a TTAG Readers’ Family Photo Album on our Facebook page. [Click here to view.] The collage inspired a reader to write: “I’m looking for some input and or advice, I would like to teach my daughter firearm safety and what an appropriate age would be, she’s 2 now so I have a few years to decide. I’m asking after seeing the family pics you guys have been sharing made me a little more comfortable asking this question, I was thinking I’d start teaching her around 8 years old. Thank you for answering ahead and taking the time to reply hope you all had a wonderful Easter.” Your thoughts?
Is Everytown for Gun Safety That Stupid?
Tyler Kee spotted this image, created by the NRA’s newest and possibly best-ever fund-raiser: Everytown for Gun Safety. Mayor Bloomberg’s ballistic bully boys’ pathetic attempts at anti-gun agit-prop bring to mind that bit in the Wrath of Khan where Captain Kirk tells his genetically modified nemesis “like a poor marksmen you keep, missing, the target.” In this case, Everytown’s minion doesn’t even know how bullets work. The message here is simple enough: ban guns. How long did it take Everytown to get from “gun safety” messages to this? Less than a week. Maybe Everytown for Mayors Against Moms Demanding Action for Illegal Gun Sense should take a leaf from our readers’ Soviet-style anti-gun posters. It would be a lot more honest.
Quote of the Day: Tooling Up Edition
“I do feel some pressure in carrying a gun…It’s obviously of great help for our daily work. And we will strictly follow the rules and laws when using it.” – Officer Wang Haiyi quoted in Shanghai relaxes controls on armed (police) patrols [at xinhuanet.com]
BREAKING: Everytown for Gun Safety Assumes Control of Facebook Page
Michael Bloomberg’s new gun control group – Everytown for Gun Safety – has assumed control of the disputed Facebook page of the same name. If you recall, Bloomberg’s ballistic bully boys forgot to create a Facebook page for their $50m civilian disarmament campaign. Gun Rights Across America scooped-it-up – then pulled it down on the advice of NRA lawyers. Facebook has now transferred control of Everytown for Gun Safety to Everytown for Gun Safety. The page has 289 Likes and an image suggesting that law enforcement supports Bloomie’s gun control efforts. And positions Hizzoner as a King (just sayin’). So far, negative comments are not being removed. Expect that to change as well.
