Grayson County Resident Fatally Shoots Home Invasion Suspect

GRAYSON COUNTY, VIRGINIA — A suspect in an attempted home invasion is dead after he was fatally shot by the home owner.

A Facebook post on the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office page gave details of the incident that occurred Tuesday, December 6th. The break-in and shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Mount Zion road in Elk Creek. The suspect, identified as 41 year old Samuel Craig Cheeks, allegedly broke in though a bedroom window.

Armed Citizen Shoots 2 Of 3 Suspects During Incident At Mall

CHICAGO RIDGE, ILLINOIS — Police say a person with a concealed carry permit shot two people outside a restaurant at Chicago Ridge Mall. The incident happened Thursday evening.

Around 8:20pm, a couple was getting into their vehicle in the parking lot when they were approached by three men. The man getting into the car, a concealed carry permit holder, fired multiple rounds at the three men.

Two of the three men were struck by gunfire.

Home Invasion Suspect Stopped By Multiple Armed Neighbors

ST. CHARLES, MICHIGAN — A St. Charles man is in custody after he was confronted by armed citizens after he attempted a home invasion, according to police.

The incident took place Friday, November 25th at around 7:33 am. The suspect, identified as a 32-year-old man, was reported to be causing a disturbance, jumping on top of a vehicle at one point. The suspect then forced his way into a residence occupied by a 41-year-old woman and her 13 and 9-year-old children.

A woman was pumping gas when two men came up to her and announced a robbery. She seems to comply but before they take off with her vehicle, they shoot her, striking her in the arm.

If you want to see something scary, this is it. A child was in a driveway when a coyote came along and grabbed her, and began dragging her away. The incident unfolded on Friday in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles on the family’s property.

The father of the child was close by and yelled at the animal, making it back off just enough for him to get his daughter to safety.

TOPEKA, KANSAS – A man is dead after a shooting in Southwest Topeka, according to the Topeka Police Department. The shooting took place on Friday, Nov 11 around 5:30pm. This occurred near the corner of 29th and Villa West Drive in Topeka.

Police say two men got into an altercation in the street. One of the men pulled a gun and shot the other. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

23-Year-Old Woman With CCW Wins Against 4 Armed Carjackers

Four men got out of a black car around 2 AM Wednesday and went up to a 23-year-old female in her parked car. One attacker had a handgun and tried to open the victim’s car door. The 23-year-old female was a concealed carry license (CCL) holder and shot one of her attackers in the head.

She was running away when another assailant shot her in the left arm. They took the offender she shot to the hospital in serious condition.

Security Guard Successfully Overpowers And Disarms Man With Rifle In Buffalo

A man walked into a substance abuse treatment clinic with an AR-15, and just before had robbed a woman on the street and shot her. A security guard was in the lobby of the building at the time and wasted no time taking action in an attempt to control and disarm the man.

As soon as he walked into the lobby, he fired off a shot to let everyone know he means business.

$21,000+ Theft: Rifle And Gear Stolen From New Mexico Patrol Car

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – A convicted felon in New Mexico allegedly stole an AR-platformed rifle and over $21,000 in police gear from a state policeman’s patrol car. The items were eventually returned but included days of tracking the items back down.

The items were able to be stolen due to the patrol car being left on a street for a couple days and no alarm system had yet been installed in the vehicle.

Chicago CCL Holder Fatally Shoots Armed Robbery Suspect

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A CCL holder shot and killed a suspect who attempted to rob a Chicago grocery store. A clerk was also critically wounded by the robbery suspect in the shooting,

Police state that the robbery attempt occurred at a South Shore grocery store in the 2600 block of East 73rd street at around 6:20 pm. Police state that the suspect went into the store with the intent to rob it and produced a gun.

Man Shot And Killed Tuesday Morning In Nashville

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — An altercation that led to a shooting left one man dead and another wounded early Tuesday, November 9th.

The shooting occurred on Sycamore Road. 49-year-old Dontrell Booker and 20-year-old Zion Lacy were involved in a fight just prior to the shooting. Police stated that Booker was in a relationship with Lacy’s mother. Police report that Booker fired at Lacy, who returned fire. Booker died as a result of his wound.

Judges Rules Self-Defense In September 2021 Shooting

On October 11, 2022, a Butte County, California Judge ruled that a September 2021 shooting by a juvenile was self-defense.  There were 3 days of testimony involving 15 witnesses as well as surveillance video related to the case.  The Judge ruled that the Prosecutor did not meet the threshold to override a claim of self-defense.  Under California law, the burden is on the Prosecutor to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant did not act in self-defense.
