The Truth About Guns
What I Carry and Why: The .327 Federal Magnum Ruger LCR
My first dedicated concealed handgun was a Smith & Wesson 642. The lightweight alloy frame and pocket-friendly footprint was a joy to carry. However, I sucked at shooting revolvers and the J-frame didn’t exactly beckon me to practice. So I ventured down a long and winding road, partially documented here. I have since returned to the revolver game with Ruger’s LCR, prompted in part by TTAG’s review of the .357 Magnum model.
Fast-forward a few years where we find a lot of slightly used holsters sitting in a footlocker and my EDC for the last four years is a Ruger LCR in .327 Federal Magnum (simply ‘.327’ from now on).

Panneton: The Catholic Rosary is a Must-Have Tacticool Accessory for Rad-Trad Violent Insurrectionists
Just as the AR-15 rifle has become a sacred object for Christian nationalists in general, the rosary has acquired a militaristic meaning for radical-traditional (or “rad trad”) Catholics. On this extremist fringe, rosary beads have been woven into a conspiratorial politics and absolutist gun culture. These armed radical traditionalists have taken up a spiritual notion that the rosary can be a weapon in the fight against evil and turned it into something dangerously literal.
BREAKING: District Court Strikes Down Texas’s Ban on Concealed Carry By Adults Under 21
This is a BIG win. And it may be the first (of many) post-Bruen gun control law to be struck down on the merits.
From the Firearms Policy Coalition . . .
Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced a victory in Andrews v. McCraw, its Second Amendment lawsuit that challenged a ban on handgun carry by young adults in the State of Texas. The judgment and injunction can be viewed at FPCLaw.org.
OMG! A Box of WWII Rifles Was Mistakenly Delivered to a High School! OMG!
Why doesn’t FedEx ever make these kinds of mistakes at TTAG Central Command? Or with someone we know. We promise not to press any panic buttons, bother the local cop shop, or lock down any educational facilities. Pinky swear.
“When deliveries come in, we check everything,” Kevin Thomas, Chester (PA) High School maintenance employee told NBC10. “Usually, it’s like school supplies. So I don’t think – in the history, nothing like this has ever happened.
The Magazine Vest From ‘Heat’ – McCauley Would Not Be Pleased
I just finished the book Heat 2, which to me, is a long-awaited deep dive into a group of characters I love. ‘Heat’ is often well regarded for its gunplay, but beyond good cinematic ballistics, it’s a great film with deep and flawed characters. In short, I’m a fan of director Michael Mann and a huge fan of ‘Heat.’
A year ago, the Youtube channel Forgotten Weapons posted a video called Forgotten Weapons Will Rock and Roll At the Drop of a Hat.
Oregon Homeowner Shoots a Home Invader After Being Forced to Make Him a Sandwich
Apparently breaking into residences and victimizing innocent people can work up an appetite in a fugitive on the run. Terry Lee Martz was feeling a might peckish on Saturday while carrying out a broad daylight home invasion at a residence in the eastern Oregon town Ontario.
Martz let himself into the home on Saturday around noon where a woman was reading in the living room and a man was outside in a shed.
ProPublica Horrified That a Lawful Business is Defending Itself in the Courts
After the 2021 ghost gun law passed in Nevada, Polymer80 hired the New York City law firm Greenspoon Marder to file the lawsuit in Yerington, an onion farming town that’s the seat of the county that’s home to Polymer80. One of the firm’s managing partners, James McGuire, traveled to Yerington to argue before Judge John Schlegelmilch that the law was written so vaguely it would be impossible to enforce and would be ripe for abuse.

How One Twin Cities Company Fills the Void Created by Defunded Police in a High Crime Environment
By Waysun Johnny Tsai
Early this year I was introduced to a company that focuses on executive protection and guard services. The interesting part is that they are based in St. Paul, Minnesota and do a lot of work in and around the city of Minneapolis. We all know what the climate around there is and has been like.
I figured any company that would name itself after JomsVikings is probably worth a look.
The Media Only Tell Us Half the Story About Guns in America…Why Do You Suppose That Is?
By Rob Morse
It’s hard to fool an honest man or woman who wants to know the truth. Unfortunately, many of us depend on the media to bring us much of our news, and lying to us — or withholding key parts of the story — today makes it easier to fool us tomorrow.
Most of us feel horrible when we see news stories about violent crime. Beyond the emotional shock of the story, though, we are seldom told what the story means.
Gun Review: SIG P210 Carry
The SIG P210 Carry is an interesting gun. When SIG SAUER first announced it, I thought, why? The new SIG P210s were pretty sweet and are very well made, accurate, and oh so fun to shoot. What is the purpose of a carry model?
Especially when you looked at the size, the capacity, and the price of the P210 Carry (about $1400) versus SIG’s ultra-popular P365 carry gun. Even so, after firing one briefly at the PSA Gathering event earlier this year, I wanted to know more, so I reached out and SIG sent me a loaner to test drive.

St. Louis Police Fighting ‘Progressive’ Mayor’s New Civilian Oversight Board
By Jim Salter, AP
Eight years after Michael Brown’s death pushed the St. Louis region front and center into the national debate over police accountability, the city’s elected officials and its police associations are at odds over a new oversight plan.
St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, a progressive Democrat elected last year in part on her pledge to hold police more accountable, this month signed into law a bill creating a Division of Civilian Oversight, an independent agency to investigate allegations of police misconduct and use of force incidents.
Safety Tip: Never Try to Catch a Dropped Gun
We’ve said it before — a few times, actually — but it bears repeating, particularly after recent events…don’t try to catch a gun you’ve dropped. Period. It’s far more dangerous to try to grab it as it falls than it is to let it hit the ground.
Virtually all modern guns are reliably drop-safe. Even with a round in the chamber, letting them fall presents far less risk than catching it and possibly making contact with the trigger.

SIG SAUER Issues Product Warning and Recall Notice for 9MM 115gr Elite Ball FMJ Ammo
From SIG SAUER . . .
Sig Sauer has determined that portions of Lot No. JDAR0815 of SIG SAUER 9MM, 115gr, Elite Ball, FMJ (SKU E9MMB1-50), may have powder charge variations that could result in a bullet remaining in the barrel (i.e., a bullet-in-bore obstruction). Firing a subsequent bullet into a bore obstruction could cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable and subjecting the shooter and bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury.
Gear Review: Pnuma IconX Heated Core Vest and Pants
I’m a total sissy for the cold. According to all the genetic tests, I’m about 4,000% Scandinavian, but whatever noble traits my hearty ancestors developed to live in the cold skipped right over me.
Hating the cold as I do, I own a wide selection of cold weather undies. I’ve got wool and synthetics alike. I’ve got multiple weights of the same sets, and when I travel, I bring spares.
But I didn’t have anything quite like the Pnuma Outdoors IconX Heated Core vest and pants.

Trailing Nadler Badly in the Polls, Carolyn Maloney Tosses Up a Couple of Gun Control Hail Marys
U.S Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) is in the fight for her political life. She’s trying one last Hail Mary to win over gun control-minded primary voters in her bout against Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.).
Rep. Maloney has used the firearm industry as a political football in her primary campaign. Now, she’s introducing legislation to punish firearm manufacturers.
Favored Target
Rep. Maloney chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The A3: Armored Republic’s Newest Body Armor
No one wants to need body armor: Ideally, you avoid dangerous situations, or at the very least, you don’t get shot. But when the time comes where you’ll want body armor, whether it’s a home invasion or warding off a “mostly peaceful protest,” you’ll want the best armor on the market.
Over the years, different armor materials have shown themselves to be particularly powerful for certain uses. For instance: steel armor is amazing at stopping multiple bullets — better than any other material.
