One More Time for All the New York Politicians – It’s the Criminals, Not the Guns
New York’s gun laws are a mess. Antigun politicians passing them don’t have a clue. Worse yet, the people facing the consequences are law-abiding New Yorkers.
They’re also the ones facing danger. Case in point – New York City’s Democratic Mayor Eric Adams recent reveal. The mayor told media, “When it comes to guns, this year, 2,386 people were arrested with a gun. Of those, approximately 1,921 are out on the street.
Thomas: Make ‘Good Guys With Assault Rifles’ Pay for Those Who Are Killed With Their Guns
If personal responsibility is now the answer to the issue of unwanted pregnancies, we need to make it the answer to gun shootings as well. Sure, like with having sex, U.S. citizens have the right to bear arms. But if a woman gets pregnant when her or her partner’s contraceptive fails, in the eyes of the antiabortion crowd she holds full responsibility.
So the same should apply to gun purchasers.

When your campaign is lagging and your best bet for catching your opponent is slipping away, lots of candidates resort to tactics and even language they figure might get them some free publicity. Why not? What does Robert Francis O’Rourke have to lose at this point?
The faux Hispanic’s best bet for pulling even with incumbent Greg Abbott in the race for Texas Governor was to pray for disaster.
SIG’s New P365-XMACRO Packs 17+1 Rounds and is Smaller Than a Compact P320
SIG SAUER’s new P365-XMACRO takes the modular P365 platform from one extreme to the other. The ultra-popular original P365 packed more rounds in a packable micro-compact than anyone thought possible. Now, the larger, P365-XMACRO allows you to have full-size pistol capacity in a slimmer, more comfortable-to-conceal pistol. Think G43X size with G17 capacity.
Back to the SIG platform…the P365-XMACO, with its XL length slide including built-in compensator, is still slightly shorter (5.2 in.
The Post-Bruen New York and California Punitive Gun Control Laws are Clearly Unconstitutional
After Bruen, a notable noncomplier is New York Governor Kathy Hochul. She also follows in the footsteps of her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo. Both passed their big gun control bills by sending a “message of necessity”—a maneuver to prevent legislative hearings and to deprive legislators of time to read a bill before they vote on it. As the New York State Sheriffs’ Association explained:
The new firearms law language first saw the light of day on a Friday morning and was signed into law Friday afternoon.
Lott: The FBI Consistently Understates the Number of Armed Citizens Who Stop Mass Shootings?
While [Eli] Dicken was praised for his courage and skill – squeezing off his first shot 15 seconds after the attack began, from a distance of 40 yards – much of the news coverage drew from FBI-approved statistics to assert that armed citizens almost never stop such attackers: “Rare in US for an active shooter to be stopped by bystander” (Associated Press); “Rampage in Indiana a rare instance of armed civilian ending mass shooting” (Washington Post); and “After Indiana mall shooting, one hero but no lasting solution to gun violence” (New York Times).

The Fact Is, Only You Can Prevent Gun Fire
While dining at El Sombrero this evening I was surprised to see a public service announcement on the TV displaying the character Smokey the Bear with the caption: “Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires.” I recall the impact that ad had on me as a child in my long-past and misspent youth.
The PSA startled me because El Sombrero is 900 miles south of the Texas border. I wasn’t expecting to see him here.

Things That Don’t Suck: New Crossbreed Modular Belly Band 2.0 and Purse Board
A few weeks ago, Crossbreed Holsters released a new version of their modular bellyband holster, so I decided to give it a try. I also decided to give another part of their modular system, the Purse Board, a try as well. It’s a well thought-out system, but like most concealed carry options, it’s not going to be useful for every person in every situation.
I purchased these items myself, so you’ll get a very honest review here that’s not influenced by getting anything for free to review.

Chicago’s Public Defender: Police Are Abusing Anti-Gun Laws, Targeting Minorities
In a recent Twitter thread, Cook County’s public defender office raised important concerns about gun control laws. They’ve identified a pattern of racism in the enforcement of such laws in Chicago, but can’t determine how bad the problem is or how to solve it without more information.
The area’s police departments are underreporting data, making it impossible to correct the issue.
Not only is there a racist pattern of enforcement of gun laws in Chicago.
Gun Owners After FBI Raid on Trump’s Florida Home: Welcome to the DOJ Party, Pal
By Lee Williams
The FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s Florida home came as little surprise to the gun rights community. After all, the Department of Justice was weaponized against us the second the current occupants of the White House began measuring the drapes.
Their agents have been running and gunning without any adult supervision ever since. So it was only a matter of time before they became emboldened enough to execute a raid on a former President’s home – armed with weapons of war, no less.
