The Truth About Guns

Canada Prime Minister Announces National Handgun Freeze…Or So He Thinks
Someone forgot to tell Justin Trudeau that he can’t stop the signal. On Friday, October 21, the feeble Canadian Prime Minister announced that handgun ownership has been frozen. No further purchases, transfers or imports of handguns are allowed. At least under officially recognized government databases.
Update: People can no longer buy, sell, or transfer handguns within Canada – and they cannot bring newly acquired handguns into the country.
— Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) October 21, 2022
And Canada has more plans to crack down on civilian firearm ownership.
It’s Still a Very Good Idea to Have a Conceal Carry Permit in Permitless Carry States
Let’s get this out of the way first: constitutional carry should be the rule, not the exception. That being said, I don’t think conceal carry permits should go away any time soon. Even as my home state moved to permitless carry several years ago, I maintained my permit and encourage others to get theirs as well.
Why should someone put in the time, money, and effort when it isn’t required? I’d love to tell you.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. There is NOTHING wrong with spending more on your scope than your rifle.

How Will You Celebrate Ruger Day Tomorrow?
Did you miss he fact that tomorrow, October 22, is 10/22? Ruger certainly didn’t. They’ve christened it Ruger Day for obvious reasons and tomorrow will be the fifth Ruger Day since they launched the annual celebrations.
As Ruger says . . .
On October 22, 2017, Ruger celebrated the inaugural “Ruger Day,” a day created to celebrate all things Ruger, and celebrated on 10/22 because of our ubiquitous 10/22 rifle.

Narrative Fail: Latest Poll Finds ‘Gun Policies’ Isn’t a Priority for 99% of Americans
Every once in a while, the mask slips on the mainstream media’s fake news narrative. The garbage polling that suggests that over 40% of Americans believe gun control is America’s top priority is revealed to be every bit as fake as it sounds. If you take a look under the hood of a new New York Times / Siena College poll, you can some of the real truth about guns.
Buried in the New York Times piece: the fact that 99% of Americans don’t see so-called “gun policies” as their biggest concern.
#GUNVOTE Playing a Critical Role in the Georgia Governor Race
One of the biggest elections for a Governor’s race is in Georgia where voters will decide whether to keep Republican Gov. Brian Kemp or replace him with Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams. It’s a rematch from four years ago and this time, the #GUNVOTE will play a critical role in deciding the winner.
Election Day is less than three weeks away and the two gubernatorial candidates faced off in a debate to tell Peach State voters where they stand on the issues, including the Second Amendment.
Judge Blocks New York State’s Ban on Carrying Firearms in Houses of Worship
The poison fruits of New York’s one-party-rule hoplophobic hissy fit of a gun control law that was enacted after the state lost bigly in the landmark Bruen case continue to be plucked from the gun control tree. Yesterday a New York District Court judge issued a restraining order blocking the state from enforcing its ban on carrying firearms in churches, synagogues and other houses of worship.

Gun Meme of the Day: Adult Onset Hunter Edition
I think I qualify as an adult onset hunter, but I sure as sh*t hunt in jeans. And ‘worse.’
For instance, there’s a picture of me having brutally murdered a hog with a short barreled rifle made by breeding a Heritage Arms Barkeep with a Rough Rider Rancher Carbine, all while wearing boardshorts, a t-shirt, and shoes with no socks. To be fair, I suppose the shorts are camo pattern…with flowers (these ones; they’re great).

Florida voters got a preview of what’s at stake in the U.S. Senate race for The Sunshine State on Nov. 8. #GUNVOTE issues will have an significant impact on voter’s minds and national gun control groups are spending big to sway voters on the issue, albeit using flawed calculations and disgusting race politics.
Law-abiding Floridians have purchased firearms in a big way since 2020. More than 3,889,000, according to NSSF-adjusted FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) verifications.
Wichita Road Rager Pulled a Knife and a Bystander Pulled a Gun
Wichita cops say a 19-year-old named Trevor Wende pulled a knife during a road rage incident. A bystander saw the hot-head draw the knife and pulled his gun. Fortunately, Mr. Wende had the good sense to drop the knife and the good Samaritan kept things from escalating until police arrived.
Yahoo News has the story . . .
A passerby stopped a road rage incident where a knife was brandished after he held a man at gunpoint until police arrived Friday night on 21st Street North near I-135, Wichita police spokesperson Chad Ditch said.
Gear Review: Riton 3 Tactix MPRD 2 Red Dot Sight
Handgunners ahve embraced the idea of optics wholeheartedly. Optic-readiness has become the new Picatinny rail…you might not use it, but you probably want it on your gun.
Red dots have moved from duty-sized guns to the microcompact market. Shield kicked it off, but companies like SIG, Bushnell, Holosun, and Riton have followed suit. We got hands-on with the latest Riton mini red dot, the Riton 3 Tactix MPRD 2.
For the sake of brevity, let’s call it the MPRD 2.

LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR: Good Samaritan Shoots Knife-Wielding Lunatic Who Threatened EMTs
Like a good neighbor, a gun owner is there. That’s exactly what happened in Gainesville, Georgia as a knife-wielding mental case who was “off his meds” prowled the parking lot of an apartment complex.
As EMTs treated an injured victim, the lunatic, Darrion Suave Fraley, approached and apparently decided he wanted to perform some thoracic surgery on the EMTs. At the same time, a neighbor saw the commotion and the obvious threat of death or great bodily injury to the innocents.
CNN’s Attempt to Report the Truth About Guns Outrages Gun Control Zealots
The times they are a-changin’ at CNN. Now that the bottom-dwelling (ratings-wise) “news” network is under new ownership, it has shed such journalistic eminences as Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon (from prime time) and Brian Stelter in an effort to at least appear more objective and informative and less, well, doctrinaire.
Apparently in an effort to burnish its journalistic credentials and attempt to present both sides of an important issue, CNN announced yesterday the launch of something called their ‘Guns in America’ beat team.
Georgia’s #GUNVOTE Could Decide the Balance of Power in the US Senate
Polling shows a tight race for a U.S. Senate seat that could determine the balance of power in the next Congress. The stakes for the Second Amendment couldn’t be higher.
Georgians watched a debate between their two U.S. Senate candidates leading up to the midterm election on Nov. 8. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and challenger Republican Herschel Walker faced off on the issues including the Second Amendment. The differences between the two are stark and the #GUNVOTE choice for Georgians is clear.
Enter Your MSR Hunting Pics for a Chance to Win a Mississippi Deer or Louisiana Hog Hunt
NSSF, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, is helping hunters to reject gun control’s accusations that modern sporting rifles (MSRs) aren’t meant for hunting. Nothing could be further from the truth. Today’s hunters have plenty of options when it comes to hunting, and MSRs fit right in.
Now, NSSF has teamed up with The Confluence Group for hunters to proudly show off their 2022 hunting season photos with AR-platform rifles and be entered for a chance to win a Mississippi Deer or Louisiana Hog Hunt.
THE REAL LIFE WILD WEST: AR-15 Armed Carjacking on Chicago’s Dan Ryan Expressway Caught On Camera [VIDEO]
Chicago has become the America’s new Wild West. Criminals do what they want with impunity, never giving a second thought to getting caught by police or meeting resistance from their victims.
In recent days, a trio crashed their likely carjacked sedan on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the city’s south side. Instead of waiting for a police report, they abandoned the car and started running.
Whatever else they may have left in the car, the trio made sure to take their AR-style rifle with them, along with their masks.
Things That Don’t Suck: Davronov Chest Rigs
It’s hardly the most efficient or practical LBE option out there (far from it), but few things look as good as well-crafted kit built from the skin of something that had parents. I’m talking about leather and, more specifically, the leather Alex Davranov uses to build his gorgeous chest rigs.
This isn’t a “I’ve used this and it’s awesome gear review.” This TTDS is all about aesthetics. I’ve never put hands on one of these or even seen one in person — but that doesn’t matter.

Judge Provides Help for State of Washington to Defend its ‘High Capacity’ Magazine Ban
The Second Amendment Foundation, FPC and Mountain States Legal Foundation, among others, are suing the state of Washington over its unconstitutional magazine capacity limit. Like so many gun control laws, Washington’s “high capacity” ban is on the endangered list now that Bruen is the law of the land.
Even though Judge David Estudillo has set a trial date more than a year out, there’s apparently concern that Attorney General Bob Ferguson is going to have his hands full putting up an adequate defense in the case despite all that time to prepare.
