The Truth About Guns
Gun Meme of the Day: Dollar Tree Lobster Edition
Yes, that’s totally legal! Just not. Or sometimes, just not right now when you use it that way or maybe if you do but didn’t mean to. But also it’s illegal. And totally fine. Just register it. Or maybe not.

The Taliban and Joe Biden Agree – Civilians Don’t Need to Own Firearms
By Lee Williams
On Monday throughout Kabul, teams of Taliban terrorists started going door-to-door searching for our former allies, young girls and, of course, personally owned firearms.
Our allies were disappeared. Their fate was sealed. Some have been shot, hung and beaten to death. Their bodies usually turn up on a dusty road several days after they were taken for their families to bury.
The girls — including many under 12 — are forced to marry Taliban terrorists.
Gun Review: HK SL8-6 Rifle
[ED: Last week HK announced that they’ll be bringing back the SL8 rifle, the import-legal version of their G36. The reintroduced SL8’s MSRP is $1699 ($1749 for the California-legal version). For those unfamiliar with the SL8 we’re republishing Joe Grine’s excellent review of this…interesting rifle.]
As we’ve all learned – some more quickly than others — elections have consequences. No one should be surprised by the Bidenharris administration’s move against gun rights.

Hunting in Africa: Unintended Consequences, or How I learned to Love the Zebra
Just like it was a few months prior, the KLM plane from Amsterdam to Johannesburg is almost completely empty. My two traveling companions, plus myself, make up a third of the passengers aboard the Boeing 777. We can take any seat we like, as long as it’s not in First Class, of course.
Last time, the purpose of my trip was a plains game safari. A lifelong dream come true. I highly recommend it.
Minneapolis Residents are Getting Exactly the Government They Voted For
This is not a manufactured crisis, nor one of sensationalized stories. The statistics are staggering. According to a May 20 meeting with local leaders, year-to-date homicides in 2021 have more than doubled compared to 2020. The police department has seized 100 fewer guns this year — approximately 300 total — compared to last year.
Gun thefts from vehicles are up more than 100 percent. The atrophied police department simply lacks the resources to chase them down.

Biden May Have Armed the Taliban, But He Still Wants to Take Your AR-15
The devastating visuals of Taliban fighters sweeping through Afghanistan that led to the fall of the Afghan government and evacuation of the U.S. Embassy revealed a disturbing reality. President Joe Biden was willing to leave billions of dollars’ worth of high-tech weapons in the hands of the Taliban but is determined to strip law-abiding U.S. citizens of their God-given right to keep and bear arms.
One media outlet described the Taliban seizure of U.S.

Not a Parody: De Blasio Plans to Pay Criminals Convicted of Gun Crimes
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is moving forward with his disastrous plan to pay convicted criminals $1,000 a month not to commit more violent crimes. The initiative is known as “Advance Peace” and is being sold as a “transformational opportunit[y]” to pay “young men involved in lethal firearm offenses.”
Yes, the Mayor’s plan to address the root causes of firearms-related crime and violence is to pay off those who have committed it.

From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .
The Second Amendment Foundation is celebrating a victory in Pennsylvania involving a long-existing gun club in the Pittsburgh area, as a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has unanimously remanded the case back to the lower court for a second time. The case is known as Drummond v. Robinson Township.
At issue is an effort by officials in Robinson Township to write and enforce restrictive zoning laws against the 265-acre Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club, now operated by plaintiff William Drummond.
Federal District Court Rules Two Hawaii Gun Control Laws Violate the Second Amendment
When you think ‘gun control,’ the states that immediately come to most people’s minds are California, New York, New Jersey and a few other usual suspects. But Hawaii takes a back seat to no one in its zeal to keep its citizens disarmed (see, for example, the state’s virtual ban on carrying guns outside the home). But yesterday, a US District Court judge struck down two laws that are clearly intended to limit or outright discourage individuals from buying and owning firearms.

Armslist Slaps Tech Giants With a Lawsuit Over Deplatforming
Armslist LLC and owner Jonathan Gibbon recently filed a lawsuit against Facebook and Instagram over the social media giants’ decision to suspend Gibbon’s personal and business accounts in January, 2020.
According to the lawsuit, Gibbon and Armslist Marketing Director, Andrew Varney III, were “targeted” because of “their conservative and libertarian political views,” Trib Live reported.
The website, which serves as a go-between between buyers and sellers, frequently posts pro-Second Amendment content on their social media platforms as a way of driving traffic to their website.
One-Third of Chicago Murder Victims Likely Killed By Someone Released Under Illinois ‘Affordable’ Bail Law
The Illinois Bail Reform Act of 2017 mandated that judges impose “affordable” bail to criminal suspects arrested by police. Theoretically, the law was to apply only to misdemeanor and minor felony arrests. However Cook County judges, under orders from Cook County’s Chief Judge, Tim Evans, have brazenly applied the law to all but the worst offenders.
Implementation of this new law has emptied out Cook County’s jails by tens of thousands of inmates since the summer of 2017.
Gun Review: Canik METE SFT 9mm Pistol
Canik USA took the nation by storm several years ago with the TP9SA 9x19mm pistol. The rock solid handgun was priced to move below $400 and would not quit. Since that time Canik USA has introduced numerous models with many improvements. They have just outdone themselves with the launch of the METE pistol line and the SFT model.
When you open up the FDE colored hard-sided polymer case you will find that it contains not just a pistol, but a host of accessories and features.

Webster Groves ‘Burglary in Progress’ Ended by Homeowner With a Shotgun
A burglar attempted to enter a suburban St. Louis home through the back door on Friday. The homeowner who heard the intruder met him while holding a shotgun to defend himself. He ordered the burglar to leave, but the scattergun apparently didn’t make much of an impression on him. Well, it didn’t at that point, but it was about to.
According to stltoday.com . . .
“When the suspect refused to comply with verbal commands to exit the residence, the suspect was shot by the homeowner,” [Webster Groves Police Lt.
The Taliban’s Victory in Afghanistan is Another Argument Against Gun Control in America
I have nothing informed to offer on the [Afghanistan] situation save this: the moment we’re all witnessing, where the US military is scrambling to evacuate as 20 years of counterinsurgency crumble behind it in a matter of hours, will be a touchstone in our gun debate for decades to come.
Any time anyone, anywhere suggests that Americans surrender their AR-15s because the US military is so all-powerful that it cannot be opposed by irregulars with small arms, Kabul will be invoked to counter that suggestion.
Gear Review: Dual Adjust Weapon Sling From Arbor Arms
Slings…who doesn’t love them? They keep your long gun on your body, improve retention, and give you a little relief on mile 18 of a 20-mile patrol. Slings rarely change much. Every so often, a new hotness enters the market, and we fawn and fangirl over it. Modern tactical two-point slings have seemingly taken the King’s mantle, and for the last decade, quick-adjust slings have ruled.
Innovating a piece of nylon can be tough to do, but the crew at Arbor Arms certainly has with the Dual Adjust Weapon Sling.

The UN and EU Press on With Civilian Disarmament With Biden Close Behind
By Miguel A. Faria, M.D.
The Seventh Conference of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty will reconvene August 30 to September 3, 2021 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Obama administration was a fan of UN arms control and then-Secretary of State John Kerry signed the treaty. But then Obama’s gun control agenda floundered in his second term, when in 2014 Republicans gained 13 new U.S. House seats and regained a majority in the U.S.
