Invictus Games Ditches Tradition, Honor Along with Real Firearms
The first Winter Invictus Games are due to take place at the Whistler ski resort in British Columbia, Canada early next month. In addition to snowboarding, curling, and alpine and Nordic skiing, the games will feature a biathlon event.
In a January 21 post on X, game organizers announced that competitors will be using “Ecoaim optic (infrared beam) rifles” for the biathalon’s shooting portion, instead of the traditional rifles and live ammunition. “As a Games legacy, future users can experience Biathlon without the safety risks and environmental impact associated with live fire ammo,” it reads.
Indiana Lawmakers File Deluge Of Gun Bills
With Indiana’s General Assembly session hitting high gear, legislators in The Hoosier State have introduced more than a dozen gun bills so far—some good, some bad.
Let’s hit a few highlights (or lowlights) in the Senate, starting with those proposals that are touted to be aimed at violent crime but are actually anti-gun measures. Senate Bill 27 requires that officers from a political subdivision’s law enforcement agency are present during a gun buyback program to dispose of guns, conduct serial number searches and record identifying information from gun sellers.

Gun Review: Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol
Beretta owns the semi-auto shotgun market. Beretta literally owns Benelli, Stoeger and Franchi, three companies whose bread and butter is shotguns. Beretta also produces a fair number of shotguns. Italian shotguns have a few common themes: high levels of performance, feature-filled and a high price point. The 1301 and Benelli M4 cost two grand. Seeing a gap in the market, Beretta released the A300 Ultima Patrol.
The A300 Ultima Patrol has an MSRP of $1,049 but retails for less than a thousand dollars.

Traitorous Dem AGs Side With Mexico Against U.S. Gunmakers
In a simply nonsensical turn of events, attorney generals from 18 Democrat-run states have joined together to file a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of Mexico’s lawsuit against U.S. gunmakers and firearms retailers.
Led by rabidly anti-gun and now anti-American California Attorney General Rob Bonta, the AGs came down on the wrong side of the issue, choosing to side with Mexico’s corrupt government rather than Americans working in a highly regulated industry.

M249s Review: The People’s SAW?
When Fabrique Nationale announced they were releasing the M249s, a semi-auto variant of the U.S. military’s M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW), the reaction was pretty mixed. Sure, a few FFL/SOT manufacturers were going to buy them to convert into post sample machine guns, but the market wouldn’t be there for a (then) $7,000 semi-auto…right? Well, a funny thing happened and FN sold them all. Then, they sold the whole next batch. A few years down the road, and I’ve got my hands on one now.

Illegal from Venezuela Arrested and Charged in U.S. with Possession of a Firearm by an
In what is a sure sign we have a new administration running the country, a press release was issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee Friday about the arrest of an illegal immigrant from Venezuela in possession of a firearm. The Fifth Circuit Court ruled in August 2024 that illegal immigrants have no protected Second Amendment rights and as such may not possess firearms if in the country unlawfully.
It looks like Americans may be seeing a return to some sense of law and order that dissolved under the Bident Administration.
Court Rules California Must Issue Nonresident Carry Permits
A U.S. District Court for the Central District of California has issued a preliminary injunction requiring California to accept concealed carry permit applications from nonresidents. The decision marks a notable breakthrough in the neverending legal battles over the state’s restrictive concealed carry and other antigun policies.
The case, CRPA v. LASD, was spearheaded by the California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA) in partnership with the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), Gun Owners of California, Gun Owners of America (GOA) and individual plaintiffs.
SHOT Show 2025 Delivers Two New 9mm Revolvers
I’m a fan of 9mm revolvers. What helped me learn how to shoot snub nose revolvers was an LCR in 9mm. The price of revolver ammo, like .38 Special, remains high, and 9mm makes it a fair bit easier to shoot. Plus, there are plenty of defensive ammo options, and you can use reduced recoil ammunition without fear of reliability issues and more. I like 9mm revolvers, so imagine my satisfaction when SHOT showed me two new 9mm revolver options.
The Diamondback SDR
I’m not a revolver expert, so my opinion is barely worth a spit.

FPC Sues Over Ban On Interstate Handgun Sales
Have you ever truly taken a moment to consider how absurd it is that a resident of one state cannot purchase a handgun from a licensed firearms dealer in another state, even though the prospective buyer would still need to pass the same federal background check as required in their home state?
I’ve puzzled over this numerous times over the years, mainly because there is absolutely no logic behind such a restriction. Now, the good folks at the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) are taking action on it.

Vermont Court Tosses Lawsuit Over ‘Hi-Cap’ Mags
A county judge in Vermont has thrown out a case where the plaintiff argued that his arrest for possessing a firearm magazine holding more than the state government permitted was unconstitutional under the Second Amendment.
Max Misch, a self-proclaimed white nationalist (which has nothing to do with the application of the law), was arrested nearly six years ago for possessing so-called “high-capacity” magazines. He took the state to court, arguing that magazines holding more than 10 rounds are in “common use” and, thereby, protected under the Second Amendment.

When Carry Turns Dangerous: Cop Shoots Driver With Own Gun
In many states, the law requires that if you are stopped by law enforcement during a traffic stop, you must inform the officer that you have a concealed firearm in the vehicle. These laws are seemingly put in place for the safety of officers, although it seems unlikely that anyone intending to shoot an officer would actually disclose their weapon; rather, only law-abiding citizens would do so.
A problem arises, however, when the officer initiating the stop does not know how to safely handle a firearm.

They deserve them, but if you can fight your way past the wall, you can see that PSA’s two sub-companies, DPMS and H&R, are doing more than a few interesting things.

Biden’s Gun Violence Office Disappears From White House Website
Since former President Joe Biden established the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, many gun-rights activists have been hopeful that the next president might immediately do away with the ill-conceived attempt to use tax dollars to promote gun control schemes.
Only a day into President Donald Trump 2.0, it has been proven that some wishes do come true. On Tuesday, the office was dismantled, according to reports from several sources. The website for the office has been scrubbed from the White House website, leaving visitors to the site to receive a 404 error message.
SCOTUS Relists Pair Of 2A Cases
We recently reported that the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear two cases related to the Second Amendment—one challenging Delaware’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines, and the other targeting Maryland’s handgun licensing requirements.
To most gun-rights activists, the decision to not consider those cases was a disappointing one, as both Delaware’s ban and Maryland’s licensing requirements are arguably unconstitutional, especially when considering the criteria set down in the 2022 Bruen ruling.
