The inner mechanical operations of a firearm really is an extraordinary thing. The mechanisms must be precise and move collectively, all within fractions of a second, to work properly. It’s difficult to imagine just what a feat it is when essentially a mere squeeze of the trigger starts the reaction, but the amazing animated graphics produced by Jacob O’Neal of Animagraffs show the inner workings of a model 1911 .45-caliber pistol.
