It’s hard to imagine that a mix of Metallica and medieval folk instruments like the lyre, mandolin, flute and gusli would result in anything less than odd, at best, especially when the musicians are dressed as if they’re on their way to a Renaissance festival. But a group from Belarus known as Stary Olsa (Стары Ольса) somehow pulled off a remake of the 1988 hit “One” pretty perfectly.

And it’s not their first remake either. Over the last 15 years, the group has made a name for itself with remakes of that sort and now has eight albums.

A planned vote Thursday by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to repeal a 57-year ban on using suppressors for game hunting has been pushed back due to attention from gun control opposition.

A new ruling published in Thursday will allow Indian reservations who retain their own governmental process to use the National Instant Criminal Background Check System to screen firearms permit applicants.

Zach Silk, the campaign manager for Washington State’s background check expansion, said that the initiatives passing, “should give a lot inspiration to these other states where they’ve tried legislative efforts and have run into reluctant officials.”
