In over 500 pages, retired three-star general, Daniel Bolger, describes the conflicting agendas that haunted both campaigns, as well as the difficulty of identifying the enemy and the looming specter of Vietnam.
“The bravery and sacrifice of the people that I was privileged to serve with should be saluted,” he tells NPR’s Karen Grigsby Bates. “And the mistakes, the errors made by guys like me have to be accounted for and explained so we can learn and do better in the event we have to do something like this again.”

The quiz, which is part 1 so it’s safe to assume a part 2 is on the horizon, promotes the new non-fiction book “Cover Shores” by H.I. Sutton, which plans to release in spring 2015.
The book project looks at the history of Naval Special Forces and has a particular emphasis on equipment and subs.
The quiz asks you 10 multiple choice questions and shows you an image of a rifle. Try to match the correct name to the image.

Back in March, Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi took a wrong turn into Mexico while in possession of three guns and ended up spending 214 days in prison.
In the only interview since being released from a Mexican prison, Tahmooressi shared his story where he discussed the experience, the situation and the future.
