Running the open-bolt Uzi sub gun in a sand stoppage test (VIDEO)
Designed and built in Israel for famous use by the IDF in the gritty Middle East, you would think that the Uzi would hold up to a sandy environment.
With that in mind, the Military Armament Channel got a hold of a NFA-compliant select-fire Uzi and went to work with a few handfuls of sand. Of course no gun is sand-proof but you may be interested in just how much the Israeli 9mm can digest– and how easy a field strip can get it back in action in the worst case.

Darby Roach, an author who labels himself an adventurer and professional guide, has written an article for The Huffington Post, titled, “Why Compromising On Guns Is The Patriotic Thing to Do.” In it, he quotes his father, a veteran of the Pacific theater of World War II, as saying, “If you need more than one bullet, you’re a piss-poor shot and have no business with a gun in the first place.” As much as I respect his father’s service, I have to note that it’s exactly this kind of Fuddism that weakens the protection of gun rights.
