Number of gun, car deaths converge for first time in 65 years
A common argument against gun control in America holds up the number of deaths caused by motor vehicles, which for the past 65 years outpaced firearms deaths, but data released this month by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show those numbers converging.
...Studying for the test
For the moment, no federal tax dollars will be spent by the Centers for Disease Control in “gun violence research.” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi attempted to get funding restored in recent budget talks, but as expected, Republicans have kept the budget rider that bars such spending intact.
...NY Times: ‘An Appalling Silence on Gun Control’
The New York Times editorial board was critical of the current GOP candidates for presenting terrorism on U.S. soil as clear and present danger rather than gun violence, which talk about Second Amendment issues was noticeably absent from the debate.
...Conan the Barbarian gets a lightsaber upgrade (VIDEO)
With all things seemingly from “a galaxy far, far away” this week, it only seemed just for a legendary Cimmerian warrior such as Conan to step up his sword game.
Created back in 1932 by Texas short story writer and poet Robert E. Howard while spending some time along the Rio Grande, Conan was a fixture of American comics and pulp fiction novels for almost a half-century prior to the rise of the Jedi in pop culture.
So the blending of the two is logical and Ahnold seems to be immune to the effects of saber plasma in an almost Chuck Norris sort of way. If nothing else, he’s about the most “Swole Up” Jedi there was.

Field testing the Beretta M9A3 with all the goodies (VIDEO)
Hickok45 clocked in with Beretta’s latest Italian stallion, the updated M9A3 complete with a Gemtech suppressor and extended mag.
The company’s hopeful bid to replace thousands of the U.S. military’s legacy M9 (92F) pistols, the rebooted A3 has lots of neat little features like high-profile sights, a squared-off trigger guard, better ergonomics and a threaded barrel.
Hick breaks it down and compares it directly with some 92s he had in the closet then proceeds to ring steel. Enjoy!
