As many mourn the passing of the artistic genius Robin Williams, we thought we would post this “Good Morning Vietnam” montage.

A favorite of ours around the office, “Good Morning Vietnam” epitomized Williams’ range as a performer. The film is based on Adrian Cronauer’s (played by Williams) experiences as a DJ for the Armed Forces Radio Service in Saigon circa 1965.

The 1988 film gained Williams an Academy Awards Best Actor in a Leading Role nomination, a rarity for a comedy.

Seen as a tireless advocate for service members both home and abroad, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel released a statement on the passing of Williams stating: “The entire of Department of Defense community mourns the loss of Robin Williams.”

A Philadelphia robber hobbled away from his intended victim after accidentally shooting himself Sunday night.

The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, walked up to a woman and demanded her iPhone. During the course of the robbery, the suspect managed to accidentally shot himself in the foot, NBC Philadelphia reports.

The suspect was transported to Aria Health-Torresdale Campus hospital to be treated for his wounds and is expected to survive.

The woman was not injured during the incident, and she also didn’t lose her iPhone.
