The Pentagon released footage of a U.S. F/A-18 Hornet dropping 500-pound laser-guided bombs on Islamic State terror sites early Friday morning.

A retired sniper who served in the Ukrainian military decided to pick up his rifle and join the fight once again.

Many years ago “Klym,” now 58, never thought he’d need to use his unique skill set again, but after seeing a report about troops who fell while fighting against separatists, he was spurred into rejoining the military, RFERL reports.

“I was sitting on the couch, unable to help them,” Klym said. “My eyes were tearing up. So I decided to join the Donbas battalion and help the guys.”

Klym says he is “well trained” and is still able to outpace many of the younger soldiers. His role will be to provide cover fire for the assault teams.

Apparently, some shifty Ukrainians have rigged up a prototype backpack feed system, kinda like the Ironman, to work with the PKM LMG. I’d take one today, kinks and all. When they get this working smoothly…

I think it may work better with a sideways feed out of the pack, and obviously it’s gonna get a better machine gun mount at the feed tray — how would you tweak this to make it work better?

Michalowski wants to start a movement where gun owners stamp every bill of U.S. currency they spend with “Gun Owner.” Once those bills begin circulating, it will become clear how much gun owners contribute.

While New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg may be willing to drop $50-million into gun control efforts, united gun owners could blow that figure out of the water.
