Wildlife biologist Andrea Turkalo shared with NPR’s Morning Edition how she had to quickly flee the bai last year as war closed in in Central African Republic, shortly before the elephant slaughter. But she’s still working to try to save the elephants that remain — collaborating, in part, with Nir Kalron, a former Israeli soldier who now works for Maisha Consulting, a security company in Tel Aviv that specializes in wildlife protection.

News broke last night that the FBI is now investigating the armed supporters and militia groups that squared off against federal agents and law enforcement officers during the dispute over rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle illegal grazing on federal land.

According to CBS Las Vegas, the FBI is investigating to see if the armed supporters threatened and aimed weapons at government employees while they rounded up Bundy’s cattle.

U.S. Marine Daniel Rey Wolfe documented his suicide by posting photos to Facebook.

The 2013 Raytheon Trophy was awarded to the 67th Fighter Squadron, known as the “Fighting Cocks.” This is the sixth time the 67th Fighter Squadron has won the trophy, making them the most-winning squadron in the entire U.S. Air Force.

According to SkyTrailer, the Raytheon Trophy has been round since 1953 and is annually awarded to the top air-superiority or air-defense squadron in the Air Force.
