Opinion on the Colorado PP Shooting

Wed, 12/02/2015 - 00:26

This is all I want to say about the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting:

Untouchable: The tradition continues for the ATF and not like in the movies.

Imagine if you will that you worked for a large company and were issued both a company car and company-provided credit card. Then imagine what would happen if you decided to use that company car to drive to a casino, to use that company-provided credit card to get a cash advance to buy chips, and you did it all on company time. You would likely be fired and perhaps even prosecuted for stealing from your employer. Or, at least, that is how it should work in the real world.

When reality strikes…

“When my mom said, ‘Heather, was that a gunshot? I looked at her and I almost started chuckling. I’m like ‘This is not going to happen right now, there is no way this is going to happen.’ And it did. Thank goodness it wasn’t a mass murder, but it very well could have been. It was someone armed with a gun near Citrus Park Mall,” said Barber.

Arlington Cemetery short of wreaths. Let’s get some.

Mon, 11/30/2015 - 06:42

It only costs $15 for a wreath. Wreaths Across America will place one in your name at Arlington or to a military cemetery of your choice.

Already done mine last nigh, you get going now.

Surprise, Surprise! Some guns used in Paris attacks produced in ex-Yugoslavia’s arsenal.

Sun, 11/29/2015 - 06:01

Some assault rifles used by the Islamic militants in the Nov 13 Paris attacks and later seized in police raids were produced in the former Yugoslavia’s state arsenal, the company’s director said on Saturday.

Blogger hates WordPress.

Sat, 11/28/2015 - 21:04

I think I mentioned here that I was not able to post comments in most of the blogs working under Blogger and today I finally found out that Blogger seems to be blocking when I choose to make a comment under my WordPress ident. On a whim, I chose my still active Google Plus and it went through without a hitch. I went ahead and changed the nick to Miguel GFZ and the armed angel should appear as avatar.

Colorado Springs PP Clinic Incident: There is News and there is Information, never the twain shall meet.

Sat, 11/28/2015 - 06:00

Not gonna go into the shooter and his sick mind since it is too early and frankly the news are so full of crap with the “experts”. Instead I want to talk about what I heard live coming from the police thanks to the new technologies we have available for peanuts.

Calais First Hand

Fri, 11/27/2015 - 10:38

Just about anybody who has been following the news of the refugee situation has probably heard of the “Crisis in Calais.”  As I understand it, the terminal for the French side of the Eurotunnel, that connects the UK to France, is just outside Calais.  Nearby is a tent city refugee camp.  Many refugees want to make it from mainland Europe through France to the UK, because the UK has the best social welfare system for refugees.  Much of the news I’ve seen has been sympathetic to the refugees.  Vice went all out with a video that was more tear-jerkingly sympathetic than the Sarah McLachlan ASPCA commercials.

That Deafening Silence from the Gun Control Groups.

Fri, 11/27/2015 - 09:28

I guess you might have heard that President Obama signed the Defense Spending Bill late night the day before Thanksgiving and that the bill had a provision that allowed for 100,000  surplus M1911 and M1911A1 .45 ACP pistols to be sold via the Civilian Marksmanship Program. There is a great probability that some great collection pieces might be inside that lot and 1911 fans are chomping hard at the idea.

This is Not a Day Care. It’s a University! – Oklahoma Wesleyan University

Thu, 11/26/2015 - 02:08

This is taking a flamethrower to the Special Snowflakes.

If you’re more interested in playing the “hater” card than you are in confessing your own hate; if you want to arrogantly lecture, rather than humbly learn; if you don’t want to feel guilt in your soul when you are guilty of sin; if you want to be enabled rather than confronted, there are many universities across the land (in Missouri and elsewhere) that will give you exactly what you want, but Oklahoma Wesleyan isn’t one of them.
At OKWU, we teach you to be selfless rather than self-centered. We are more interested in you practicing personal forgiveness than political revenge. We want you to model interpersonal reconciliation rather than foment personal conflict. We believe the content of your character is more important than the color of your skin. We don’t believe that you have been victimized every time you feel guilty and we don’t issue “trigger warnings” before altar calls.

You childproof a house for a toddler, not the world for overly sensitive teens that require paramedics for a mosquito bite.

Washington DC Chief of Police Cathy Lanier, was interviewed by CBS News for a segment on Active Shooters.  The whole video is worth a watch, but her segment is what is important and worth 2 minutes of your time.

US Government Sues EOTech Sights for Fraud.

Wed, 11/25/2015 - 06:00

Specifically, the Government’s allegations concentrate on the performance of the Holographic Weapon Sights at temperature extremes as well as in high moisture environments.  The Government also claims that EOTEch failed to disclose testing that demonstrated the inaccuracy issues in those environments.  In addition to naming L-3 and EOTech as defendants in the Government’s suit, they also named EOTech’s president, Paul Mangano which isn’t very common. They are seeking unspecified triple damages plus civil penalties of as much as $11,000 for each fraudulent claim.
