Making a Case for True Natural Rights for All in Second Amendment Argument
A recent federal court ruling has stirred up controversy. While that happens all the time, this one is special because it’s got the gun rights community divided. The big rub? The question of whether people who entered the country illegally can lawfully possess a gun. Some conservatives and libertarians/liberals are on the side of the defendant, while others are angry about it, with some even thinking it’s part of a plot to create an army of “invaders”.
Biden Signs Pro-Gun Bill…Well, Not Exactly
One of the strangest, and probably worst ways some laws are passed in our system, is when a politician adds a rider or provision they know their colleagues across the aisle oppose onto a larger bill that they know the other side wants so badly, that they will just sign the bill, making it all into law. The Democrats are masters of that legislative trick, and so it seems, are the Republicans.
In the most recent example of this, in a government funding bill President Biden desperately wanted to see approved, Republicans slid a provision in that would restore gun rights to countless veterans who had been denied that right since 1998.

NJ Homeowner Shoots Intruder, Now Faces Nation’s Toughest Self-Defense Laws
A Trenton, New Jersey, homeowner faced a harrowing event late Sunday night when a man with a hammer broke into his house forcing him to shoot the man in self-defense. Now he potentially faces another larger and more protracted harrowing event should he be forced to navigate New Jersey’s legal system and the state’s strict self-defense laws. Fortunately, he was in his home where the law, even for New Jersey, seems to be fairly clear cut.
Palmetto State Armory JAKL Review
The Palmetto State Armory JAKL was first introduced several years ago, but is now hitting its stride with consumers. The JAKL is an adjustable gas, long-stroke piston operated AR-15. The JAKL has been billed as a “truck gun” by many.
It has taken a couple years to really get off the ground, and even had a couple QC and parts compatibility hiccups along the way. Palmetto State Armory now seems to be delivering everything that was initially promised, with multiple calibers and barrel lengths available and more on the way.

Delaware Senate Passes Law Going After Handgun Owners
In proof that even small states that account for a small percentage of the total gun ownership in America can still pass laws that are a huge pain in the butt for said gun owners, NRA-ILA reported over the weekend that the Delaware Senate passed Senate Substitute 1 for Senate Bill 2 (SB 2) by a vote of 15 to 6. The purely anti-gun “legislation will impose a Maryland-style ‘handgun qualified purchase card’ and a handgun transfer registry, creating a perpetual cycle of costs and delays to maintain” a citizen’s ability to purchase a handgun.

N.J. Attorney General Platkin Has a Sticker Party. States ‘Guns Bad,’ on Taxpayers’ Dime.
Ever since we got that wonderful gift from Justice Thomas on his birthday in 2022, the former “may-issue” states have been having hissy fits. The landmark NYSRPA v. Bruen decision sent a clear message to draconian states that the villagers shall have their pitchforks and they shall be able to have them in public for self-defense. Recent antics coming from Attorney General Matthew Platkin include an initiative allowing businesses to register as “gun-free zones” and get a “free” sticker advertising their disdain for civil liberties.
Anti-Gun Everytown Employs Propaganda, Fake Numbers in Juvenile Shooting Report
Children unintentionally shot and killed more than 157 people last year and wounded more than 270, or so Everytown for Gun Safety would have you believe. NBC News was the first media outlet to lap up this fake-news story.
“The children who pulled the trigger were most often teenagers ages 14 to 17 or children ages 5 and under, according to Everytown’s data, which is compiled from media reports,” the NBC News story claims.

NYC Subway Shooting: Brooklyn District Attorney Will Not File Charges
In follow-up to Jennifer Sensiba’s op-ed yesterday, “New Yorkers Sure Didn’t Get Much Safety For Their Lost 4A Rights,” here’s a little follow-up to the story, and coming from New York City, some may actually find it surprising.
Following a recent incident that unfolded on a New York City subway, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office has announced that it will not press charges against a man who shot another during a confrontation, citing self-defense as the basis for their decision, CNN has reported.

11-year-old Young Man Shoots Domestic Abuser Attacking his Pregnant Mom
What happens when an 11-year-old young man sees an adult man beating and strangling his 27-year-old pregnant mother? Well, if she’s raised a lion and not a sheep, he’ll grab a gun and shoot the SOB attacking his mother. Exactly that happened in Charlotte, N.C., as a young man grabbed a pistol and ended an attack upon his pregnant mom.
Authorities say a domestic abuser forced entry in a hotel room where the young man and his mom were staying at about 11 p.m.
Like His Mother, School Shooter’s Father Now Found Guilty in Connection to Crime
In a landmark case in Michigan, James Crumbley was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for his indirect role in the tragic 2021 Oxford High School shooting perpetrated by his son, which resulted in the deaths of four students. This conviction aligns with that of his wife, Jennifer Crumbley, each held accountable for their failure to secure a firearm and address their son’s evident mental health crisis. The jury’s decision marks the first time parents have been found criminally liable in connection with a mass school shooting committed by their child.
Gary, Indiana’s 25-Year-Long Nuisance Lawsuit Against Gun Industry To End
The National Shooting Sports Foundation proudly did a well-earned victory lap publicizing the signing of a bill in Indiana to end the City of Gary’s 25-year-long nuisance lawsuit against the gun industry. Governor Eric Holcomb signed the bill, which will preempt local municipalities from filing lawsuits relating to guns and gun ownership. Considering the City of Gary’s nuisance lawsuit was first filed in 1999, the measure was long overdue.
Of course, Big Gun Control isn’t handling the news well at all as their lawfare charade is coming to an end.
Hand in Hand: A Second Amendment Group Fights to Defend First Amendment Rights
Attorneys representing the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and Defense Distributed have filed an appellants’ brief in their long-running First Amendment challenge of the New Jersey statute which prohibits the publication of computer files containing digital firearms information. Defense Distributed, according to their website, is the first private defense contractor in service of the general public. Since 2012’s Wiki Weapon project, Defense Distributed has provided state-of-the-art information in small scale, digital and personal gunsmithing technology.

Missouri Resolution Supports Continued Commercial Utilization of Lake City Ammunition Plant
Missouri state Rep. Aaron McMullen’s introduction of a concurrent resolution supporting the continued commercial utilization of Lake City Army Ammunition Plant is being applauded by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and others who have been following the political attacks on the utilization of the important factory. The resolution would mark the Missouri General Assembly’s support for the commercial utilization of the facility and urges the U.S. government to reject calls to end the program that allows the Lake City ammunition plant to remain fully staffed and able to operate at a sustained peak capacity to meet the ammunition needs of the U.S.
