Culture Wars Can’t Take Root In 3D-Printed Gun Culture
A recent post by Navi of Boomhandia (a well-known name in the 3D-printed gun community) about the politics and culture of 3D-printed guns really impressed me, and I think it bears sharing and discussing further here. It came after a dustup where some said that LGBT (especially the T) enthusiasts were too loud about 3D-printed guns, and thus were discouraging people from getting into it.
Instead of taking a side, Navi took the high road, and explained that one of the key benefits to a truly open and free gun community is that nobody can dominate it, chase people off, or gatekeep one way or the other.

Woman Stops Intruder in Clear Case of Self-Defense
A Richland County, South Carolina, woman, defending herself and her two small children, stopped an intruder over the weekend shooting him dead after he busted through the door to her apartment and came at her.
The woman told police she heard banging at the door of her residence in the early morning hours of Sunday. As he approached the door to see what the commotion was about, the main crashed through the door and into her apartment.

Disaster Averted Thanks to Armed Guards in Houston Megachurch Shooting
Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, one of the largest and most watched on television church services, was the scene Sunday of an active shooting. Authorities say just before 2 p.m., as the church was between services and about to begin a Spanish-language service, a woman dressed in a trench coat and carrying a backpack entered the church with a rifle and a 5-year-old child in tow and began opening fire. Off-duty police officers working security at the church quickly engaged the woman, killing her before she could harm anybody.
Idaho Bill Bans Public Contracts For Companies That Discriminate Against Gun Industry
A measure recently introduced in the Idaho legislature seeks to keep companies that discriminate against firearms-related businesses or groups from receiving contracts from the state government.
Senate Bill 1291 was introduced in the state Senate earlier this week. The measure would prohibit public contracts with individuals or companies that are boycotting those that engage in or support the manufacture, distribution, sale or use of firearms, and would also require companies that contract with the state to disclose if their policies discriminate against the firearms industry.
The Supreme Court Has An Opportunity to Clean House
A recent video from Mark Smith at The Four Boxes Diner on YouTube sheds a lot of light on a recent filing with the Supreme Court. While it’s not very likely that the Supreme Court will go for it, I’ll argue that it should, because it would put an end to increasing lawlessness in the lower courts.
But first, let’s take a look at the video so you can see what the overall situation is:
In short, the Fourth Circuit is playing games.

Things To Think About Before Helping Police
While there are plenty of people in the world who wouldn’t piss on a cop if they were on fire, there are still many of us who would be willing to put ourselves in harm’s way to help. But, stepping up to assist law enforcement is something that almost nobody really trains for.
Even if we wanted to prepare for that, how would we go about it?

Knives Out: Self-Defense Claim Stemmed from Fight Over Cutting Onions
Reading almost like something out of the Onion, WPTA in Indiana is reporting a 60-year-old man was charged after stabbing his girlfriend, a former magistrate, to death in what police said was an argument over cutting onions. The case just goes to show not all self-defense claims are the result of using a gun, nor do all self-defense claims hold up. It remains to be seen if this one will, and while everyone is innocent until proven guilty, this one is looking extremely doubtful.
Only One Country Fields A “Sniper Grenade Launcher”
I’ve seen and dealt with a lot of different guns over the years. Some are very mundane. Others are a lot of fun. But, one thing I’ve never seen before is a grenade launcher that’s geared up like a sniper rifle. It turns out that a number of countries (including the U.S.) have tested this idea, but only one has fielded it so far: China.
Here’s a video explaining the history and the concept in depth at Task & Purpose: (article continues after video)
Grenade launchers are obviously nothing new.

Glock: The Beginning
In the early days of shooting, or BG (Before Glock) as it is known, pistols were complex collections of fitted parts that made for a sometimes precarious balance of reliability and function. This became very evident when a shooter would attempt to go beyond a general field stripping of their pistol to replace a part or even explore the gun. Many a gunsmith would see customers walk into their shop with a shoe box full of parts that were previously a pistol.

Say Aloha to Your Guns: Hawaii Court Gets Creative (aka Stupid) on the Second Amendment
Straight from the department of “you can’t make this sh** up,” the Hawaii Supreme Court appears to now be simply making their laws up out of some Maui Wowi-induced vibe after they head-scratchingly declared that the “Spirit of Aloha” trumps what they see as a Second Amendment that doesn’t apply to their island state. Christopher Wilson, the defendant in this legal dramedy, found himself on the wrong side of a court that apparently consults its cultural roots more eagerly than its constitutional texts.
The Wound Report: Always Bring Enough Gun
Our hero was in his early twenties and came dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He limped into the Emergency Department under his own power complaining of spontaneous left knee pain. I asked if he had fallen, twisted his knee or otherwise injured himself, and he said “no.”
His examination was significant for a painful range of motion. There were no obvious external wounds, but his knee was indeed slightly swollen.

Savage Arms Will Find a Following Among 1911 Fans
By Michael Irwin Collins
The Savage 1911 finally arrived at my FFL after waiting quite a few months. Some of the big guys got theirs first and that’s ok. I have mine now, and I have given the pistol a good workout. Savage may not be best known for their handguns, but I have to say, this is a credible addition to the 1911 world, and there are certainly plenty of 1911 types to compare this piece to.

CCRKBA Submits Amicus Brief in California Gun Show Ban Case
As California legislators, led by Gov. Gavin Newsom, continue to try to dance around the Supreme Court’s Bruen ruling and insist on stifling Second Amendment freedoms in the Golden State, lawsuits continue to fly.
Most recently, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) has submitted an amicus brief to the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals supporting the federal lawsuit filed against California’s effort to ban gun shows at the Orange County Fairgrounds, as well as other state-owned property across the state.
Once Again, The Israel-Hamas War Shows the Futility of Gun Control
Last year, I wrote an article exploring some practical lessons from the initial attack on Israel from the Gaza strip. The biggest thing was that, as usual, a country had slid into anti-gun complacency. Everyone thought that it was somebody else’s job to protect people, so targets of all kinds were left vulnerable.
But, this time, the tables have turned. An Israeli operation at a hospital in the West Bank managed to drive the point home yet again.
FPC Files Appellant Opening Brief In N.M. Carry Ban Case
With the case challenging New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s carry ban soon to be heard, many pro-gun organizations are filing briefs. The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC), an organization dedicated to winning the battle for the Second Amendment in courtrooms across the country, filed its appellant opening brief with the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals on Feb. 1.
“The Governor’s restrictions are particularly perverse because they prohibit individuals in locations such as parks and playgrounds—that Defendants assert are ‘vulnerable’—from arming themselves for their own defense and the defense of their children and grandchildren,” the brief in the case Fort v.

Ammo Background Checks Back on in People’s Republic of California
“Well, screw me!” every gun owner in California collectively said at the news U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez’s ruling just last week had been stayed by a higher court panel. Benitez had ruled that the state’s requirement people get background checks for each ammo purchase was unconstitutional. Of course, the court panel that issued the stay is none other than the infamous 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals headquartered out of San Francisco, which is so liberal, the court’s rulings typically border on enforcing near communistic doctrine.
Nick Freitas: One to Watch as a Defender of the Second Amendment
If you haven’t been on Nick Freitas’s Instagram page where the rising political and social media star (he has more than 1.1 million followers) regularly posts, you’re missing out on both his mild-mannered humor as well as his anti-gun argument destroying logic that he uses in attempting to stem the Democratic tide of bad legislation in Virginia. It’s there that the former Green Beret combat veteran has served in the House of Delegates since 2016.
ATF Official: Federal Prosecutors Turning a Blind Eye to Straw Purchasers, Again
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Arizona is not prosecuting straw-purchase arrests with speed and vigor, which can allow weapons purchased illegally in the United States to “walk” across the border into Mexico, according to a retired ATF deputy assistant director who blew the whistle the first time this happened, in what became known as ATF’s “Operation Fast & Furious” scandal.
Peter J. Forcelli said the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix, which is overseen by U.S.
Trio Tries Armed Robbery…With Wrong-Way Scope on Rifle
How dumb does a person have to be to mount a scope backwards? That takes an extra special sort of individual. Sort of like a trio of would-be armed robbers in Marysville, Wash.
Police officers chased the not-so-bright crew after cops say they attempted to pull an armed robbery and/or carjacking. The three scholars rolled up in a stolen car and announced their intentions to a homeowner who just arrived home. They did so with an AR-15, complete with a scope mounted backwards.

The Real Problem 3D-Printed Guns Reveal (It’s Not The Guns)
A recent story from America’s largest outdoor shooting range shows us not only the futility of gun control, but also that the whole “ITS THE GUNS ITS THE GUNS ITS THE GUNS” argument doesn’t hold any water. Why? Because Chicago is far from the only place where this is happening.
Let’s start with what’s going on in Chicago these days:
In short, Glock switches are showing up everywhere. But, instead of having to risk buying them from the feds or from Wish, the gangs are now using 3D printers and other parts to build them.
