Range Essentials: Shellshock Protection Premium Eyes & Ears Combo
When I was a kid back in the 1970s and 80s and my friends and I would traipse around the woods at our hunt club hunting squirrels and birds and ultimately settling for blasting pine cones, cans and milk jugs filled with water, hearing protection was typically an afterthought. Even as we became more educated on the importance of protecting our hearing, we still only sometimes remembered it, and most often tried to feebly limit our exposure with industrial foam plugs from my dad’s tool box or a wadded-up piece of tissue or toilet paper.

Finally! A Reporter Actually Presses Harris on Her Stance on Guns
It was quite surprising to hear it when it happened but Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, was fact checked in real time about the real drivers of criminal gun violence. She was tripped up on her answer because the journalist pressing her wasn’t buying the vice president’s tired talking points.
It happened during an interview of the vice president at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) after one of the questioners asked Vice President Harris about her gun control platform.
NRA Asks Supreme Court To Consider AWB Case
For many gun-rights advocates, the desire to have the U.S. Supreme Court to finally hear a case involving an “assault weapons” ban is at the top of the list. Having the court rule once and for all that such bans are unconstitutional would likely put an end to all the constant state and federal shenanigans involving modern semi-automatic rifles.
To that end, the National Rifle Association recently filed a brief with the Supreme Court asking the justices to consider the constitutionality of such bans in the case Snope v.

UPDATED: Texas AG Appeals Court Decision Upholding State Fair Carry Ban
Editor’s Note: After losing arguments in both a Dallas district court and a state appeals court, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton took his challenge of the State Fair of Texas’s gun policy to the Texas Supreme Court on Wednesday. Late Thursday night, the Texas Supreme Court declined Paxton’s petition, allowing the State Fair to enforce its ban on firearms. Justice James Blacklock responded to the petition, stating that the court could not order the State Fair to allow handguns when the State’s argument didn’t challenge the Fair’s legal authority to exclude them.

Visiting Ammo Plant in PA, Ukraine’s Zelensky Shills for the Democrats
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Pennsylvania earlier this week has drawn criticism for what some are calling an overt political move favoring Democrats. According to ABC News, Zelensky toured the facility under tight security to thank workers for producing 155mm artillery shells, which have been crucial in Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression. Zelensky expressed his gratitude, stating that “the democratic world can prevail” thanks to such efforts. The visit, however, has sparked controversy for its timing and political undertones.
Staying Above Ground In NYC
If you want to stay above ground in New York City, then you better stay above ground, literally. Murders in the city’s subway system are surging this year, up 60% despite an overall reported drop in the crime rate.
The troubling trend of killings this year has the city on a collision course with the 25-year high of 10 underground murders set back in 2022. How close are they to that number? As of September 8th this year, eight people have been butchered on subway cars or in stations, up from 5 during the same period last year.
“It’s not a safe environment to be waiting for the train… It just feels evil,” Jakeba Dockery told the New York Post.

Fresno Gun Stores Owners Blame California Laws, Taxes, And The Economy For Shutdowns
Right off the bat, California is a horrible place to own a business, and I’m talking about any business, not just a gun store. If you don’t believe me, you may be surprised by the number of companies and some of the names on the list fleeing the failing state since 2020. Sure, you know Elon Musk took off faster than Gavin Newsom violating his own COVID-19 lockdown, but did you know about Chevron, Neutrogena, Blaze Pizza, McAfee, Hyperion, Edelbrock Group, Charles Schwab, Oracle, Pabst Brewing and many more?
Not Oppressive Enough: Cali Approves More Gun Laws
California, already home to some of the strictest gun control laws in the country, has enacted even more restrictions under Governor Gavin Newsom. On Tuesday, Newsom signed several new gun laws, including SB 899 and the 2024 Animal Protection and Gun Violence Prevention Act, continuing his administration’s push for tighter regulations. This comes despite the fact that California had the second-highest number of gun deaths in the nation in 2022, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)—whose research is often cited by gun control advocates to justify further restrictions.

It comes as no surprise to anyone that the NRA is under constant fire from the left, as the organization has been at the forefront of protecting gun rights and education since its inception in 1871. Harris Can’t Have It Both Ways On Guns & Home Intruders
Vice President Kamala Harris showed her true colors back in 2007 when, as the San Francisco district attorney, she told Californians that law enforcement officers could walk into private citizens’ homes and inspect how they were storing their firearms.
“We’re going to require responsible behaviors among everybody in the community, and just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs,” Harris said at the time.
