Taurus Pocket .22 Returns as the New 22TUC
Taurus has made a couple of pocket .22s over the years. The first PT-22s had some obvious Beretta 21A lineage with their tip-up barrel design. They did differ though in that the Taurus pistols were double action only and had a longer grip frame. They used an aluminum frame and also came in .25 ACP as the PT-25. The aluminum frame models were discontinued somewhere around 2017 and replaced with a polymer-frame version, the PT-22 Poly.

According to detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the investigation began when they saw Instagram posts by Ronald Castellanos with pictures and prices of the weapons.
“You know Instagram is not the place to sell firearms,” said Drew Brown, an officer with the IMPD.
NSSF Launches Resource Page For Vets About VA Health Care and Guns
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has launched a new webpage dedicated to providing crucial resources for military veterans, aiming to dispel widespread misconceptions that prevent many veterans from seeking healthcare from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
The webpage features a fact sheet titled “Correcting Mistaken Beliefs about VA Confiscating Veterans’ Guns,” which addresses concerns among veterans who fear that seeking medical care—especially mental health care—could lead to the confiscation of their firearms.
Massachusetts Petition Drive Gaining Momentum
Bay State gun owners battling Massachusetts’ restrictive new package of gun-control laws have hit a milestone in their efforts to roll back the punitive infringements.
According to a report at police1.com, organizers of a ballot effort to repeal the law have gathered enough signatures—more than 90,000—on an initiative petition to place the question on the 2026 state ballot.
Toby Leary, one of the petition’s organizers and co-founder of a gun shop and shooting range in Hyannis, Massachusetts, told the Associated Press that the law is “an effort to suppress a right that is enshrined in our Bill of Rights” and never should have been passed.

Gun-Ban Groups Spend Big and Sell Lies To Defeat Pro-Gun Candidates
Gun owners and gun-rights advocates who don’t think America’s gun-ban organizations are serious about putting anti-gun politicians in office at every level of government should consider what one group is doing in just one state.
So-called Everytown for Gun Safety, bankrolled by gun-ban billionaire Michael Bloomberg, recently announced a $1.6 million paid media campaign in Arizona in an effort to turn the 2024 elections into a win for the antis. The campaign will consist of new digital ads and direct mailers encouraging citizens to vote for anti-gun candidates.
SCOTUS Sends Pennsylvania Young Adult Carry Back To 3rd Circuit
Back in January, a three-judge panel of the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Pennsylvania’s ban on 18- to 20-year-olds carrying firearms during a declared emergency to be unconstitutional under the standards prescribed by the 2022 Supreme Court ruling in Bruen.
At the time, U.S. Circuit Court Judge Kent A. Jordan, wrote for the court: “We understand that a reasonable debate can be had over allowing young adults to be armed, but the issue before us is a narrow one.
Beyond 5.56: Top Chamberings for MSRs
Modern sporting rifles, particularly the AR-15 and AR-10 platforms, have become increasingly popular among civilian shooters, hunters and competitive marksmen. The .223 Remington and its military counterpart, the 5.56x45mm NATO, are the most common chamberings for AR-15 rifles. These cartridges offer low recoil, flat trajectories and good accuracy at moderate ranges. However, the growth of additional chamberings in MSRs continues to gain momentum. We’ll explore several of the top chamberings for AR-15 and AR-10 rifles, including their unique characteristics and ideal uses.

CRPA Offers a Press Guide to Kamala Harris’ History on Gun Control
The California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA), one of the largest state rifle and pistol associations in America and the oldest 2A organization in California, sits in a unique position to fully understand Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris’ record on gun rights. It is in California, that Harris began and grew her legal and political career first as an assistant district attorney, then as attorney general of the state and on to become a U.S.
Why You Should Call the Police: SD Family’s Vengeance Fail Ends in Their Own Demise
A tragic case of mistaken identity left two members of a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, family dead and another one facing charges after a violent confrontation at a local gas station. The incident, which took place late last week, highlights the dangers of citizens taking justice into their own hands instead of contacting authorities.
The deadly encounter began when Francisco Alvarez III, 23, returned home limping, telling his family he had been assaulted near their home on North Daisy Avenue.
Harris Doubles Down on Her Losing Gun Control Agenda
By Mark Oliva, NSSF
Vice President Kamala Harris is giving up the trade secrets. If she gets elected, she wouldn’t change thing. She laid it out in one soft-pitch interview and when asked in a later made-for-television event, she went mum. Guess that means she thinks things are just fine.
“There is not a thing that comes to mind. I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact,” Vice President Harris told Sonny Hostin, when the co-host of The View, asked if she would do anything different than President Joe Biden.

Florida Police Chief Still Hiding from Public After Hurricane Gun Ban Gaffe
In Florida, there are two ways a public official can get into serious trouble – guns and public records. Florida has powerful statutes regarding firearms and the public’s right to official records, and Okeechobee Police Chief Donald Hagan seems hellbent of violating all of them.
If a local official, or officials as in the case of Okeechobee, enact their own firearm rules, they violate the state preemption statute, which only allows the legislature to regulate arms.
Franklin Armory Releases the G-S193 Binary Kit for the Glock 19
The Glock 19 is quite possibly the most popular carry gun in the United States. The Glock 17’s compact sibling shaves just enough off the grip and slide to make it easy to carry, while still packing most of the shootability of it’s big brother. On the heels of Franklin Armory’s full sized G-S173 and G-S223 binary kits, for the 9mm Glock 17 Gen 3 and .40 S&W Glock 22 Gen 3, it only makes sense that they’d give some love to the 9mm Gen 3 Glock 19 as well.
Klutzy Walz Struggles Loading His Shotgun On Pheasant Hunt
When you’re an anti-gun presidential candidate from a party with a platform that is dead set on banning guns, what better way to attempt to sway undecided gun owners than sending your running mate on a pheasant hunt?
That’s just what Vice President Kamala Harris did, as Tim Walz headed home to chase some Minnesota ringnecks on opening day. However, Walz’s escapades in the field seems to have brought more ridicule than support.

Things Stupid People Do: Argument Over Chores Leads to Gun Play
Who’s responsible for doing these dishes? In yet my second reference within a month to the hit television show, It’s Always Sunny In Philidelphia, a Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, man is facing charges after authorities say he fired a gun at another man during an argument over, of all things, the dishes!
According to the Carbondale Police Department, officers were dispatched to Laural and Rock Street on October 9th responding to reports of a fight and a gunshot at around 7:30 pm.
New York Governor Signs New Anti-Gun Bills
New York’s already beleaguered gun owners are facing even more restrictions thanks to Gov. Kathy Hochul recently signing several more arguably unconstitutional measures into law.
On October 9, Hochul signed six new anti-gun bills into law. One bill, SB 6649, infringes on the First Amendment rights of licensed gun dealers and gunsmiths not by telling them what they can’t say, but telling them what they must say. The measure requires gun retailers to post within their place of business a warning about the “risks that come with owning a firearm.” It also requires gun sellers to provide information about the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to buyers at the point of sale.

Armed Kansas Man Shoots Aggressor In Self-Defense
The vast majority of times when armed citizens are involved in self-defense shootings the person doing the shooting is arrested, cuffed and taken to the police station. Fingerprints are generally taken, and a night in jail waiting to be bonded out isn’t uncommon. Murder or manslaughter charges are sometimes filed, and the defender makes all the newspapers and police reports, resulting in a sullied reputation at the very least.
When all that stuff doesn’t happen, it’s a pretty good indication that the incident was an obvious case of self-defense.

Court Blocks Enforcement Of NY Carry Ban On Private Property Open To The Public
Leaning heavily on the second Bruen standard—the ability to show a historical precedent—a district court in New York on Thursday permanently enjoined the state’s law banning guns on private property open to the public without express consent of the owner.
In the case Christian v. James, U.S. District Judge John. L. Sinatra of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York wrote in the ruling that the state’s arguments concerning past “similar” laws weren’t convincing enough.
